heel fits loose and tighter through the toe than the Ghost was. A disappointment

Returned
These shoes were bulky and reminded me of an orthotic shoe rather than a trail running shoe. I returned these.

Comfortable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found these shoes to be very comfortable. As I’ve gotten older I’ve had to deal with bunions and plantar fasciitis. These shoes have great cushioned support and a wide enough toe box to help my feet be as comfortable as possible. I took them on many trails while on vacation in Victoria BC, and they performed well!

Great quality, slightly narrow
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m a big fan of Brooks running shoes and was excited to try these out. I have the black on black style and while they aren’t the cutest, they are functional and go with almost everything. This style runs narrow, which I wasn’t expecting as I typically don’t have an issue with the width of Brooks shoes. It took several days of wearing to loosen them up a bit and I recommend switching out the laces for longer laces. Otherwise, they feel good running and are great quality. I will continue to use these in rotation for running and casually around town.

Divide 5 GTX are great versatile waterproof trail running shoe
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The advertised details of this shoe are right on: for use on road and trails, weather resistant fabric and good cushioning. In the first several weeks of having them, I’ve worn these shoes: all day for daily life, several long days of air travel, a 5K road race, for runs on gravel trails & paths around town and hiked for a couple hours after it poured rain for several hours. The shoes performed great with the GORE-TEX outsoles, giving me good traction in shallow mud and on slick, slippery rocks & roots. The waterproof, but breathable mesh upper made the shoes super easy to clean. I like the design and the all-black color allows it to pretty much go with whatever athleisure-wear you’ve got on. I think they’re a little boxy and bulky looking with the thick soles, but they are light, comfortable and supportive for running, walking and hiking, making it a very versatile shoe. As far as fit & feel, I got my usual running shoe size of 9.5 (in all brands, including other Brooks) and this style feels really snug so I’ve loosened the laces at all the holes -so the top of my foot feels better without the pressure while my foot still feels supported. My toes feel good in them too, since I’m used to wide toe boxes. But if I could, I would exchange them for a 10. I plan to wear these for hikes and trail runs; but if I travel and need a shoe for all these activities, I would wear these for sure.

Versatile Trail Running Shoe
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Divide 5 GTX is a comfy, versatile trail running shoe that can be used for training while also being stylish enough for daily wear on walks and outings. I’m a former college track athlete, now postpartum mom of two, who frequently hikes and is working to get back into running. These shoes allow for a smooth transition between the two activities. The Divide 5 GTX handle both trails and pavement well, providing a smooth and cushioned ride. My favorite feature is the GOR-TEX soles that provide excellent traction. The only thing I didn’t love about the design is that the black model is fully blacked out, which isn’t my preference. The shoes also felt a little heavier than other Brooks shoe models I have worn in the past, but that is also what makes them durable trail runners.

Impressively Sturdy and Light Trail Shoe
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a regular distance runner for more than a decade, it's hard to believe this was my first trail-specific shoe! I was super excited to give them a try, because my regular street running shoes don't seem to give me the support I need when I'm on dirt/gravel. What I loved: the GTX was surprisingly light! I anticipated a heavier shoe for the trail, but the weight of the shoe felt totally normal. It was also visually much sleeker than some of the other trail shoes I'd seen or tried on previously. The shoe felt really supportive, and even though it's a lower top, the shape of the top of the shoe allowed for a snug fit with the laces tied. The shoe also felt roomy enough for comfort without creating slippage - hard to achieve! The only thing I didn't love about the shoe was the stiffness. I did wonder if over time this would change, but the inflexibility of the sole made it hard to feel responsive to the terrain and meant for a slightly less comfortable run. That said, I felt well protected and supported, and that's a great trade-off for the cushy-ness of your traditional road sneaker.

Great for running trails, or running after toddlers!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These shoes have been great from day one! The fit and feel was perfect, no break in needed! They’ve quickly become my preferred pair of shoes both for workouts and for everyday activities. I’ve worn them on many outings with my toddler and from the grocery store to amusement parks they have kept me so much more comfortable. I can’t wait for more adventures in these shoes!

Just What I Needed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Brooks Divide 5 GTX shoes are amazing! They feel great right out of the box, though like any shoe, you need to break them in a bit. The cushioning is soft but still supportive. The fit is snug around the midfoot and roomy in the toe box, so no discomfort or blisters even on long runs. They look sleek and rugged, with a breathable mesh upper that keeps my feet comfy. The materials feel durable yet lightweight, perfect for different terrains. The traction is awesome, gripping well on both wet and dry surfaces, giving me confidence on uneven trails. If I could change anything, I'd make them a bit wider. Overall, they're comfortable, durable, and perform really well on different terrains.

Amazing trail shoes
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These shoes are my new go-to, I am obsessed. From opening them and trying them on, I was amazed at how comfortable they were. No breaking in needed. They provide a good amount of cushion for my aging knees but also strong support so I’m not rolling any ankles! I used them for trail hikes and jogs and loved the support it provided. Huge added bonus they are waterproof with Gor-Tex! Can’t wait to take them camping and for all the hiking we do! I also used them in the gym every morning and loved them for that as well. From weight lifting to rowing to biking, these shoes have really become my all around favorite. Another simple detail that I really loved was the shoe laces have a little grip (maybe some rubber?) that prevent them from untying throughout all my different work outs. I don’t know why but this was a game changer for me! I can’t say it enough, but I love these shoes.
