Wired Hex Set #4-10
Introduced in 1971, this timeless form of pro has retained its relevance as the most versatile, inexpensive protection available to climbers. Their unique hexagonal design allows a Hexentric to fit four different crack configurations. This means that a Hex has a comparable range to a similarly sized camming unit, but is lighter and doesn't cost a king's ransom. Extremely easy to place, a Hex can provide surprisingly reassuring placements in terrain where other camming devices fall short.

Love my hexes
Ignore the jokes about cow bells, hexes are light, secure, and cheap enough to leave behind if you need to bail. I've been using them for 50 years. They are especially useful in the alpine, as they are light and reasonable versatile.

Confident gear
Just learning to Trad climb. 3rd trip up a route. I had total confidence in the hexes. Even as a beginner at Trad, I know BD makes a quality product. Hexes are light weight and easy to work with. Thanks for a great product

First touch of climbing was a college climbing course taught by Royal Robbins in Southern California. Hexes are great, can be used as a cam-two sizes, stopper- two sizes, fits in places that no friend/cam will, good for budget and lightweight, opposing hexes in a horizontal crack, and so much more. If you lucky enough to follow a first ascender in all type terrain, the odds are he/she will be carrying them.WELL WORTH IT.

Great starter kit
I’ve used this product series many times primarily for top rope setups. While hexes have fallen out of fashion in favor of cams for lead-trad - they are a great cost effective tool for rope rope setup. BD makes SOLID products. This plus the standard “nut” kit are all you need to setup 2-3 top rope routes. It takes practice to learn how to set them, so give yourself PLENTY of time if you are new to hexes. That being said, with good placement you’ll enjoy adding this product to your collection. For the cost of 1 cam, you get 6 anchor tools (with skill required).

Pretty dang good
These hexes do their job great. I tend to carry more passive than active pro (cheaper and lighter) and these are perfect for larger sized placements that you miss out on with standard stoppers

Nut works well for trad climbing. Picture can be deceiving. Make sure to pay attention, it is only the #10 nut, not the pictured set.
