The lower panel uses ballistic nylon, where abrasion from brush, rock, and crampon contact is most likely to cause wear, extending the life of the gaiter well beyond what lighter fabrics would allow. A Dyneema cord underfoot retention system stays reliably in place through miles of varied terrain, while the center Velcro opening and cinch top make getting them on and off fast, even at a cold trailhead. Reflective details on the front top and bottom heel add low-light visibility for early starts and late finishes on long mountain days.
