Just do it
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
If you are scared of cutting your own skins, let me tell you - this should give you the courage to DIY. Just put the skins on your skis and hold this firmly against the sidewall and voila, your skins are cut with just the right amount of edge showing.

Works like a charm!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I was a little concerned that there was hardly any reviews and no “How to” videos on the Internet, showing use of this tool. After all, this was my first skin trimming project. It was for my wife’s touring set up. Needless to say, I didn’t want to screw it up. The set of skins is not cheap now days. But my worries quickly went away as soon as I made my first cut. I went slow and steady, as was recommended by the pros using other tools. I must say, I was extremely happy with the result! The best thing about this tool is, I did not have to offset the skins to make the cuts. That made the project extremely easy and quick. My cuts turned out to be smooth and precise. I did have to trim very short portions of the skins at the beginning and the end of the cut with a sharp knife. In conclusion, I’m sure some purists will say that the old way of cutting skins is the best, but for someone like me, who’s not doing this a lot, but has a general understanding of how things should work, this tool performed exactly as it should!

New and Improved
Better than the last trim tool! No need to offset the skins to cut. Way to improve this BD!

You fixed something that wasn’t broke
The new skin cutter is not intuitive and difficult to use. Why change a design that works? Guess BD likes breaking things…
