Too small
- Fit:
- Runs small
- Size Bought
- Xl
- Height
- 6` 2"
- Weight
- 195 lbs
We got the Xl for my husband and they don’t fit at all even over a regular pair of boots with long Johns (as opposed to snow boots and pants). We have to return them. He even has relatively thin calf’s. Pretty disappointing.

Need to be made a little bigger
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
I bought these on a recommendation of a co worker. Problem is the XL size will not close around my jeans & size 15 4E workboots. Need about another inch of material half way up the gaiter where it goes around the boot. Was looking forward to wearing them. But will be returning them. Seems to be a common problem with these from some of the reviews I have read. I hope they get it rectified.

Full view
I couldn't find a full view of these anywhere on the web. So here's a hopefully helpful picture. The lighter part in the instep and the logo sits right in the middle of my calf

Review Title
I have used these to climb Mt Timpanogos and am pleased with them. The construction, materials, are top notch. I think you might want to size up a bit I ordered the Medium and had to trade them for the large. I am a fan of BD equipment.

The BLACK IS BACK !!!
I wanted to get a very tuff water proof alpine gator after last year cutting my old shit Ems pair with my crampons on Mount Washington . I tried the Or expedition gator that is around the same price and has a shit load of great feedback, But truth be told they suck ! if anyone says they are easy to get on your a meathead who just likes giving false reviews! They are stiff and fit like crap!!! and come it 2 sizes to big! and are very loose and impossible to get a seal around the boot! These black diamonds kick ass! they fit perfect! miles ahead of OR shit boxes! trust me im very picky maybe to picky on how these fit, and that is over LA Sportiva Evo mountaineering boots! These are better made all they way material ease of use etc etc , they also look nicer! give these a shot they are the best in the class! I will use these this winter on a night climb on mw.

looks like these cover less of the lace area than your average gaiter, can anyone speak on this?

I would say no. I can hardly manage to fit them over my ice climbing boots. I have the large and wear size 10.5 Millet Radikal boots. Unless you have a small foot and get the XL gaiters and can live with a very loose calf, I say look somewhere else.

One of my buddies had these and I have the croc's and his looks shredded and mine don't. The croc's are just so burly!
