Spark 2 Mips Helmet

MIPS, or Multi-directional Impact Protection System, is a safety technology designed to reduce the rotational forces that can occur during an impact. It features a low-friction layer inside the helmet that allows the outer shell to move independently from the inner foam layer. This movement helps absorb and redirect energy from impacts, potentially lowering the risk of brain injuries during falls or collisions.

The Ergo Fit system is an adjustable fit mechanism that ensures your helmet fits securely and comfortably. It typically includes a dial or adjustment feature that allows you to customize the size to match your head shape. A proper fit enhances stability and comfort, making it easier to focus on your ride without worrying about your helmet shifting or feeling loose.

An in-mold polycarbonate shell is created by fusing the outer shell with the foam liner during manufacturing. This process results in a lightweight yet durable helmet that effectively absorbs impacts. The in-mold construction not only enhances safety but also reduces the overall weight of the helmet, making it more comfortable for extended wear during activities like mountain biking.

Ventilation ports are designed to promote airflow through the helmet, helping to keep you cool and comfortable during intense physical activities. Good ventilation is crucial for preventing overheating, especially when you're biking hard or in warm weather. A well-ventilated helmet can enhance your overall riding experience by maintaining a comfortable temperature.

CPSC stands for the Consumer Product Safety Commission, which sets safety standards for consumer products, including bicycle helmets. When a helmet is CPSC compliant, it means it has undergone rigorous testing and meets specific safety requirements to protect users, particularly children aged 5 and older, from head injuries while biking. Choosing a CPSC-compliant helmet ensures you are investing in a product that prioritizes safety.

To find the right helmet size, measure the circumference of your head just above your eyebrows using a flexible measuring tape. Compare your measurement to the sizing chart provided by the helmet manufacturer. Additionally, try on the helmet to ensure it fits snugly without being too tight, and adjust the Ergo Fit system if available for a customized fit. A properly sized helmet is essential for optimal safety and comfort.
