great ski-mountaineering rope

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Awesome rope for light alpine adventures. Great for getting on belay to cut a cornice or dig a pit. No brainer for glacier travel. Also great for mellow alpine ridges where fall potential is minimal but a few rappel might be encountered. Love it.

Do i need to buy two ropes for glacier travel?

Ming,

For glacial travel, one rope is sufficient. If you plan on doing any rappelling or lead climbing, two ropes are more beneficial for absorbing impact forces and making longer rappels.
