Why We Like The Backcountry Access BC Link Mini
The Backcountry Access BC Link Mini lets us keep track of our crew—or our kids—as we're enjoying our favorite backcountry pursuits. Durable and simple to use, this mini radio lets us communicate with other BC Link radios if we split up or get too spread out on the trail, track, or road. The most compact and accessible model within the Link system, the Mini is made for year-round use, including cold winter days, and it's optimized to use with all Backcountry Access airbags, backpacks, and vests. In addition to the radio, this item includes a standard webbing clip to attach to the shoulder straps or sternum straps of any pack, a hook-and-loop strap to connect to packs without webbing, a belt clip, a carabiner leash, and a USB-C charging cord.

Amazing! love the range/battery life
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I swapped these in as an add to my radio set - I've gone from the OG link to the 2.0, to these now. And after spending all of last season on them, I can now say for certain that this radio is the best version and exactly what I need. I also had a set of rocky talkies, and while I have liked those radios, I have found these to be superior for a few reasons : - The mounting clips are super simple and easy to install on a backpack strap - and since I am usually setting the radio on the strap and leaving it there all day, I find that these interface cleaner than the Rockie Talkie carabiner and doesnt dangle as much while riding. It's super easy to hit the "talk" button and speak down into the radio. - The batter seems to last longer. They are essentially the same, but I've noticed that when using the BCA radio more often, it will last as long if not longer than the RT. - The shape and hand feel. Super ergonomic. - Adjusting the channels, while at first is not as intuitive, is super nice to have on the LCD and you can dial your CT in. - Range is great. I haven't had an issue on direct line of sight or even in mixed terrain. I've even been surprised to pick up my buddy's chatter, who uses the same base channel, when they are across the range. It's nice knowing I can get in contact from a distance. - The price point also doesn't hurt.

Works Well So Far
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I recently upgraded from the BCA link 1.0. I wanted the single unit to be able to switch channels quicker plus it's easier to switch between backpacks without the long cord. Lightweight, good battery, works as intended. After 4 or 5 tours, I would recommend.

Nice radio
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I've used my pair of these a couple times and have some initial observations. I am happy with the size and weight. Lighter than my old motorola FRS radios. The controls feel solid and well made. Reception seems good in the field so far. Sound is good, but speaking right into the microphone causes some issues; hold the radio a bit away from your mouth helps. The units come with 2 types of clips and a leash which helps in different types of attachment points. Only issues: small initial learning curve for programming the radio, but once you understand how to do it it's simple. I don't like the key lock feature not persisting if the radio is turned off and back on; you have to lock the keys again. The clip attachment on the back seems ok, but being all plastic, hope it doesn't break. I haven't tested how long the battery lasts. The couple hours I have used them each time in the field hardly affected the battery life.
