Why We Like The Altra Torin 7 Shoe

Nothing helps performance like comfort and the Altra Torin 7 Shoe brings both in droves. These cushioned running shoes combine a 30mm midsole with a 0-drop rockered design that propels you forward while offering the familiarity of a flat shoe. Meanwhile, the mesh upper, lace closure, and tacky rubber outsole keep you focused on your time not your toes.

No.

Too stiff and narrow, Altras are no longer true to their origins. They hurt and this is the second pair like this, the other one I had to send back for the same reason were the Escalante.

Obsessed

Fallen in love, they fit me perfect. Feels supportive yet with the right shape all around especially in the toe box.

The right shoe for a "duck foot"!

I have a "duck foot", toes that are wider than my heel. I typically wear an 8.5, but I have a 9 and think that is right for me. This is the first running shoe that doesn't make my toes go to sleep!

So painful

The spot where the shoelaces start (comes across the top of the big toe bone at the ball of your foot) is so painful! It makes me feel like there's a bunion, but I don't have bunions. No other brand shoe hurts like this.

Helped my Plantar Fasciitis

I purchased these shoes back in July '23, and they are awesome. I have plantar fasciitis and after running exclusively in barefoot shoes since my 20s, I guess my 40 year old body decided it was time to get more cushion. My feet hurt so badly. I read and read about different shoe options, and decided to give these a try. On my first run out, I dropped 30 seconds off my mile and I got home with zero pain. They have lasted as long as expected as I wear them all of the time, not just when running, so seven months in it is time for a new pair. The only thing I wish was a little, fractionally different is how much space there is from the bottom of the sole to the top of my foot. If you wear a sock with any amount of thickness, the laces are going have a hard time tying, and there is a little bit of pressure. However, if I wear just my regular thin running socks, no problems.... Which seems fair.

I love the idea of altra shoes

I agree with a previous reviewer. My problem with Altra fit is not with the width, it is with the height from bottom of the foot to top of the foot in the front of the shoe. Most of the problem starts with the bottom of the laces being too shallow - (bottom of foot to top of foot.) And the end of most of the shoes are too shallow. I try to solve that by getting a longer size - which usually solves the too-shallow problem but results in the rest of the shoe being too big for my foot.

Foot Shape changed!

If you are looking for the same comfort as the last Torins you bought, don't buy these! They have 100% changed the foot shape and these are much narrower than previous versions. Never have I ever put on a pair of Altras and felt immediate pain instead of comfort until these! My last 2 pairs, the sole fell apart within 3 months of owning them, and now this. This will be my last pair. After years of owning these, the time has come to an end.

Too narrow

My feet are killing me after wearing these shies. I have multiple pairs of Altras that fit great, but these are too narrow

Really Painful - and not due to width

I LOVED the pink color and the midsole was plush without being too soft. I wanted them to work. That said, the stiff material around the lace/tongue bruised the top of my foot and caused SO much pain. I had to return them.
