    MK3 Bib Short

Tackle your most epic days on the asphalt or gravel in the MK3 Bib Short from 7mesh Industries. Built with a comfortable chamois, soft bib straps and quality craftsmanship throughout, these will be your go-to bibs on the longest days. Compared to previous models, the MK3 uses slightly more compressive fabrics for better muscle support. Leg openings receive seamless raw edges at the hem and are finished with silicone grippers. By extending the body fabric to the hem, it allows 7Mesh to forgo overly constrictive grippers improving the fit and allowing for more even pressure across the legs.

7Mesh crafts this bib with a custom Elastic Interface chamois made to its specifications with high-density foam at the center channel and an air permeable top layer for breathability. You can expect exceptional cushioning from road imperfections, plenty of padding for your sit bones, and all-day support in the saddle.

It's stitched together using 7Mesh's Clean Finish tailoring which places seams and sewing away from areas of friction to reduce the chances of chafing and irritation. The bib straps use super soft materials that reduce pressure points while still supplying a supportive fit.

    Believe the hype

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large

So good across the board - fit, feel, fabric, it's all there. Styles with any jerseys, and offers great leg length (to the knee). Sizing is large - I wear a medium @ 188cm (6ft 2") tall.

Minimal branding and stellar pad. No regrets.

    Great First Impressions

It will take a few more rides to know how this works for me but so far I've been happy with the MK3 Bib Short. The first thing you'll notice is how stretchy the materials used are, especially in the bib straps. This is great for us taller riders and didn't seem unsupportive as I expected it would. There's not hem at the leg, just cleanly cut material with a gripper material inside, so that gives a really nice fit. Materials seem tough yet light enough to be breathable. I especially like the chamois design in that they somehow eliminated the stitching that appears in most brands around it which is often one of the first fail points in that high wear area. All around the workmanship is quite nice as 7Mesh is becoming known for.

I went with a large which I wear in many bibs brands (Giordana, Pearl Izumi Pro, Assos, DeMarchi) and that seems right although due to the stretchy material a medium may have worked and provided more compression.

I've got to follow up on my review and dock a few stars after a long, hot ride. The shorts themselves performed quite well but the gusset connecting the bib straps at the back has a raised seam that combined with the sweat and heat rubbed raw against my arching back. I imagine that piece doesn't fall in the same place on everyone's back, but after that I don't think I can use these on long rides.
