Drop Stop Chainring
Do you like choices? The Wolf Tooth Components Drop Stop Chainring gives you lots of them. You can run the Drop Stop as a single ring without any kind of chain keeper. Or even a triple if you’re feeling old school. The Drop Stop also gives you sizing options. It comes in even-numbered teeth from 30 all the way up to 38 and two BCDs. There are even four color choices—black, red, blue, and gold—so you can match it to your current setup or set it apart to emphasize the bling.

Not designed to work on a 2x10
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
This design is only for single ring setups. I read reviews that said they were running this chainring on a 2x10, but Wolf Tooth says specifically not to. I found that out after I ordered it, but never installed it to find out. That being said, the ring looks well made and the blue color is nice.

The Best 1x Chainring I've Used
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I've used RaceFace, Oneup, SRAM, and Shimano for my 1x setup and the Wolftooth is simply the best. Of the ones listed above, I've only experienced a dropped chain on the Raceface so all have exceptional retention. What sets the Wolftooth apart is how quiet the drivetrain becomes. I've never noticed my other rings as slightly audible until I installed the Wolftooth. Yes, we're splitting hairs here as all 1x rings should do the same thing and do it well, but if I have to pick a winner, the Wolftooth is it.

Made in MN

These rings are reliable. They look good, have a long lifespan, and are quite well machined. No worries about dropping chains. Made in Minnesota is a huge bonus! Wolftooth's oval rings are equally nice.

Simple to install and has worked great
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Yes i'm the grumpy old man telling kids to get off my lawn while i still run a 2x10 setup. I almost converted to a 1x as rock gardens had eaten half the teeth of my bigger chainring up front, but i bought this as a replacement instead. Nice price, super quick to install, and has worked great. No chain drops or shifting issues. Went with the blue one ... nice touch.

Never drop a chain

I installed a 30T to convert my Shimano 2x10 setup into a 1x10. It works great and I love the flashy red color. I haven't dropped a chain yet.

my go-to chainring
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I'm a volunteer mechanic on our high school mountain bike team. I've used Wolf Tooth chain rings to convert three team bikes to 1X10 drive trains, and replaced many other brands chain rings with Wolf Tooth. We train 3 or 4 days a week, and crank on many miles, both on the pavement and on the singletrack. My subjective opinion is that the Wolf Tooth chain ring is more durable than the competition, and works well to eliminate chain drops from the chain ring. We have had no chain drops during competition using Wolf Tooth components. On my own bikes or when I'm asked for a recommendation, it's always Wolf Tooth.

Beautiful and simple

I switched to a 1x setup and used this chainring. I haven't had a single dropped chain since. It doesn't hurt that it's also a super nice looking piece of kit!

Simplicity Acheived
Converted to a 1x11 system and chose to use the Wolf Tooth chainring. Extremely well designed, light and works well with my Shimano XT drivetrain. Couldn't be happier with the performance.

Awesome
I came from a 34T to now one of these 30T chain rings. This thing has helped me out a ton when it comes to climbing hills. I got it in the bright red and it looks very good on my bike. I have had it for a couple months and it doesnt seem like it is scratching very easily, which is a nice feature. Definitely would recommend changing to a smaller ring in the front if you are having a hard time on the steep uphills.

'Merican Made
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I recently upgraded my 2x10 to a 1x 10 and this chainring is awesome. I run a 32t with an 11-36 cassette. My crank is a Shimano SLX 104BCD. This mounts to the middle chainring position and the chainline seems fine. I added two links to my chain and all is well. Beware, if you are adverse to getting stronger, you should look into a 28t and perhaps a different rear configuration. The narrow wide design makes dropped chains and greasy fingers a thing of the past.

Nope. The bolts are sold separately; however, you should be able to reuse the ones you're currently using.
