This ski does it all!

The summit ski has been my daily driver for several years now to the exclusion of other skis. I actually own two pair (so not a quiver killer but close...) because one is set up for telemark and the other is set up for alpine touring. I am a skier who wants to spend as much time as possible in the backcountry, but then take that same ski and enjoy resort days with friends, and I find that the Summit can do it all. This ski excels in a variety of conditions, particularly in the backcountry where conditions can vary from chunky to heavy to powder to wind scoured snow. As a smaller skier (5'5", 120) having a ski with an earlier rise in the tip is essential to help me confidently pop up and over the chunky stuff rather than getting pushed around by it. The rocker / camber / rocker profile of the ski allows for a playful and fun ride that holds its own in wide open spaces and shines when terrain gets tight. I find the 105 width to be a sweet spot with a ski like this because it is wide enough to float in even deeper powder, but still narrow enough to get an edge in on hardpack as long as you keep the edges sharp. Construction is solid, the ski is durable, and Weston is always good for beautiful top sheet graphics created in collaboration with artists in support of many worthy causes. (Seriously, check it out - they're doing some great stuff!). Lastly, the weight! The Summit is super light, allowing me to conserve energy on the ascent, but doesn't compromise the downhill performance of the ski. If you're looking for a capable and fun ski that does it all, the Summit is worth a try!

Very playful backcountry ski

This ski blends a nice playful, poppy feel due to its rocker, with good stability due to a stiff camber underfoot. Crushes boot packs and long days in the skin track with ease due to its light weight. This ski can do it all. The custom Pomoca skins are a lovely add on. Killer do it all ski with a midfat waist.

This is my first pair of Weston skis and they really have exceeded my expectations. The summit carbon skis are my go to for the backcountry-they are light weight but maintain good control.

Essential BC Ski

The Summit Carbon is an amazing ski and performs well in most conditions. I love how lightweight the skis are and did not expect the skis to be as durable as they are (being carbon). They definitely performed beyond my expectations and proved to be a worthy go to all around ski. It did take me a little bit to get used to the rocker but once I found that sweet spot I was able to enjoy them in all conditions but mainly in powder and variable days. I look forward to getting the Grizzly's for those really deep powder days but these skis sure managed to hold their own. Beyond stoked!

Great touring ski

I really enjoy touring with this ski. For a 186cm and 105mm underfoot it is incredibly light. The camber profile is stiff which is great for the skin track and variable conditions while the tip and tail are playful. This ski loves to butter. Its super quick and forgiving in tight trees. If you are on the bootpack with the ski on your pack you don't even know its there. I am also a big fan of Westons custom Pomoca precut skins.

The Weston Summit Carbon has been my go-to backcountry ski for a few years now and that won’t be changing anytime soon. I absolutely love this ski most days! It is responsive, easy to ski, and a downright joy to ski in powder. With a 134mm shovel at a 186cm length I have not found a instance yet where this ski was not wide enough for the amount of snow I was skiing. At a 16.5m turn radius this ski is a dream in the trees when things get a little tight. With the early rise in the tips and tails this ski does seem to ski a touch shorter than the length. This is a great backcountry 1 ski quiver and at only 7 pounds 2 ounces for the pair is a relatively light ski to do it all, including the long missions. At my size (6’5” 210 lbs) this ski is not great for charging and since I choose to ski it exclusively in the backcountry I have not found this to be a problem. While it is a relatively soft ski, it makes up for it with how fun it is to ski. I often dial it back significantly in the backcountry which makes this ski a fantastic all-around ski for the backcountry. It initiates turns quite easily and is a hoot to slash and play around on. I would recommend this ski to anyone who needs a 1 ski quiver for the backcountry and enjoys a fun and playful ski.

I've had the last 4 years of this model and absolutely love it. Stiff enough underfoot to charge a bit and soft enough in the tip and tail to be playful. The 105 Midwaist is just enough to keep you afloat in the pow while remaining super light!

I ski tour on this ski nearly everyday. It’s the best all around touring ski for where I live. It is lightweight yet not overly forgiving. Due to its progressive camber profile, I think it skis slightly shorter than its measured length but does fine at speed. I really like that the shape and turn radius make short turns in trees effortless. It’s playfulness make it a superb ski for low angle powder skiing in mid-winter conditions. The z-clip skin system (with Pomoca skins) is a game-changer.

The Summit Carbon is the Leatherman of skis for me. I use mine for everything for everything from groomer cruising to getting face shots in the backcountry. Paired with a set of ATK free raiders this ski is light enough for long approaches, and able to hold its own in any terrain. These skis do particularly well in steep deep trees with its nimble shape and "narrow" underfoot width. That is balanced with strong edges and camber under foot to keep Summits preforming when the snow gets stiff.

My Go To Ski

Go to powder ski hands down. The 2023 season in Tahoe was full of mega deep days but it didn't matter if it was a dusting or double overhead there was no question on what skis I was grabbing. The summits are nimble and surfy in the trees but stiff and fast in big terrain. Great pop through the ski and feels super comfortable in the air. I plan on getting another pair for the backcountry for this coming season.
