Snuggle up to that special someone!
- I've put it through the wringer
The Summer Coupler acts as bed sheets that also hold your sleeping pads and sleeping bag in place. There are two separate spots underneath to hold two separate sleeping pads in place. They hold up to a 20" wide pad and will not work with a double wide sleeping pad unless you cut and restitch the straps underneath. Any Semi Rectangular Western Mountaineering bag without a hood will zip into the Summer Coupler including the TerraLite, Alder, Ponderosa, Sequoia, and Bristlecone. Personally I use this for summer camping with the Western Mountaineering Alder and 2 Regular size Therm-a-Rest Luxury Map sleeping pads.

The only Therm-a-rest luxury map sleeping pads I found were 25" wide and will not fit this coupler. I find the specs on the coupler misleading as it says dimensions 6' , 6'7". On hindsight I suppose these are different lengths, but it would have been helpful if they had actually put the dimensions, (Length x width).

Richard S. the Regular size Therm-a-Rest Luxy Map sleeping pad is 20" x 72" and does fit the Summer Coupler.

Soft like bed sheets
- I've used it several times
I got this mostly for the back of my truck. I paired it with the Alder bag and it's a perfect fit. (6ft bag, 6ft summer coupler, and two Thermarest luxury map pads reg size) The fit it right between the wheel wells in my regular bed length Tacoma. It is a perfect car camping setup as Ive also run this system in my two man tent. Never slept so good away from home.

Anyone know the zipper this uses? IE YKK #8
January 5, 2017
Eddie - thank you for the question. I believe that it is a #5 YKK coil zipper - that's what we use on our bags, so that is my guess... I am waiting to get confirmation from my friends at Western. Stay tuned! Leta Western Mountaineering Rep

Hey Eddie - Western Mountaineering got back to me. Here is what they said: "It’s the same as on the Mitylite, Alder and Ponderosa with a #5 coil YKK on the side and a #5 tooth on the bottom. These are the bags that it mates to. " Hope that helps! Leta Western Mountaineering Rep
