Wahoo Fitness BLUE SC Speed And Cadence Sensor

It did not want to mount to my svelte Bianchi Infinito with its curves and oddly shaped frame. I almost gave up before I found there was literally only one position that just barely fit. After the frustrating setup, works like a charm. Paired with the iOS app, very useful and easily accessible info. Using it mostly for indoor training, but also great on the few road rides over the last month and especial for laps at the nearby oval course. A little issue with the app... iPhone battery ran out toward the end of my ride... the whole trip was lost. D'oh!

Bought this so I could leverage my "old school" bike trainer to work with Zwift. Easy no tool attachment on rear stay. Used Wahoo app to be sure working. Synced right away. Synced with Zwift on my i-pad via bluetooth. Also gives Ant+ signal that my Garmin picks up. BTW, Garmin and Zwift show same speed and cadence or very close to the same. Been two weeks and working well. I plan to take if off for outdoor season and will likely just use for indoors.

I had a bad experience with this speed sensor. I had intended to use it on my mountain bike. I figured it would be nice to have the cadence data in addition to making wheel swaps easy (just keep magnet on both wheelsets vs swapping over entire speed sensor).

The instructions included are not very comprehensive. Surprisingly there isn't a single picture/diagram on how to mount the sensor. It's not complicated, but a few pictures at least would have improved the installation process, especially once I had issues and needed to troubleshoot the sensor.

After initial installation, the sensor appeared to work well. However, there were numerous occasions where the sensor did not detect wheel movement and would not send data to my Elemnt Bolt, Garmin watch, or the Wahoo diagnostic app. I would have to re-adjust the sensor and magnet placement and eventually it would work again, but only again to drop out at some point.

At times I could completely remove the magnet and pass it over the sensor by hand and it would not wake up making me think the sensor is actually defective and my problem does not relate to the set up.

I have returned this sensor and decided the hub mount Wahoo sensor will be a better option for me. I have a few of the hub mount sensors on other bikes which have been working flawlessly for me.

not getting out to ride as much as I want so (gasp)...dusted off the trainer and rollers and my skinny tire bike from the back of the garage. With smartphone tech (strava, endomondo etc.,) I've not used old-school cycle computers in years. But, wanted something to track distance (cadence) and heart rate (bought the wahoo HRM too) while putting in some miles at home. Went on bike easy; connected up to phone easy and works as promised. Indoor cycling still sucks (not the fault of this device;-0_) but integrating some tech helps. May have to pony up some bucks and try some of the 'virtual rides' that are available when you have speed, cadence and HR... I'm pleased with this wahoo tech.

With Wahoo products, it seems to me, that you know what you're going to get; which is a quality device that works the way it's advertised. I've used this device about 20 times indoors only on my rollers.
I enjoy the Wahoo BLUE SC Speed/Cadence Sensor enough that I am going to leave my computer off of my bike when the weather breaks and I start riding outdoors; I'll check my ride data from my iphone after.
I do agree with previous reviewer that installation instructions should be more easily depicted.

I am very happy with this purchase. The Sensor was really easy to install and it connected seamlessly to Strava and the Wahoo Fitness app. I got this to improve my winter training sessions. It's helped me maintain a better workout while spinning on the trainer.

While all of the Wahoo gear I own seems to work great, in my experience, the company is pretty bad at making instructions to install their gear. I jumped on youtube and found a great instructional guide. I had no problems getting it to work.

If you’ve been keeping tabs on the industry, you may have heard about Zwift, a virtual riding platform that lets you compete with other people as you pedal on a trainer. They have different ways to connect your power output with the game, and this little guy is one of them. As of the day this review was written, their Bluetooth connectivity is in beta. I've tried it out, and it works pretty good. Once they get some of the bugs worked out, I can see this being their go-to sensor for connecting via bluetooth.
