Iris 3-in-1 Gore Jacket
No matter the weather on the mountain, the Volcom Women's Iris 3-in-1 Gore Jacket offers customizable protection and functional style. Its 3-in-1 design lets you wear the waterproof, breathable Gore-Tex shell alone on wet, warm days, or layer the down-insulated vest underneath for reliable warmth when the temperatures drop. You can also wear the vest as a standalone piece on chilly, dry days when all you want is a little extra core warmth.
The jacket's fully taped seams ensure that no moisture can seep into your layers, even if you're out riding in the wettest conditions the season has to offer. An adjustable hood easily protects your face from gusty wind and pelting snow, while the powder skirt prevents any snow from getting into the jacket when you're waist deep in the good stuff. If the day really starts to heat up, or you find yourself pushing through a flat stretch, open the zippered underarm vents and let some of that warm air out.
In addition to all the construction and technical features, the Iris jacket has a full list of bells and whistles that contribute to your experience on the mountain. Insulated hand gaiters block snow and cold air from getting into your sleeves and gloves, and Volcom's jacket-to-pant interface easily connects with compatible Volcom pants to completely seal the elements out. A designated ticket ring keeps your season pass close at hand so you can fly through the lift line, and a media pocket and goggle pocket securely hold your tunes and eyewear.

Not enough tech for the price
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
When I think of Volcom I think of tiny teen clothes. Not so with this jacket. This jacket is massive and heavy as f**k. Like it must weigh 12lbs. Felt more like a sleeping bag then a jacket for ripping. Was also super long on me too. I def couldn’t comfortably nor would have wanted to ride in it. For the price I expect a lightweight techy jacket. Copper color is spot on, as are the thumb hole inner cuffs. 5-4 140 - muscular ordered XL. Usually a large in other jackets.
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: Large
- Height: 5'8"
- Weight: 140lbs
I usually don't write reviews but this jacket is awesome. I needed a new jacket for this upcoming season and had my eye on this one. I was a little hesitant to buy it because of the price, but after wearing it this last trip I'm so glad I got it. The duck down liner is amazing - I was perfectly warm the whole time with minimal underlayers despite the freezing conditions. Covers your butt well unlike some snowboarding jackets, has sleeves with thumb holes, good venting if you need it, liner comes out, I could go on.
& I got the copper color and its really sick looking. Now I just need a pair of volcom pants to go with it so I can utilize the pant zip-in feature.
Can it be wore in place around -5 to -15 degree?
That completely depends on the person and the layers underneath. I would wear something with this amount of insulation in 20-30 degree weather at the lowest. But if you have a long sleeve shirt and thick sweater underneath it could work!
