The best in this price class
I’ve had a chance to test these hiking shoes on the rocks and roots in Hawaii. They are comfortable and cool the best feature is the fact that you can’t feel the grave and rocks poking into the bottom of your foot. Construction quality is outstanding. I do not care for the style, they look more like street shoes than hiking. I would prefer to have a larger footprint in the heal and toe area. Overall a very good shoe. Will keep you posted as to how they hold up!

Good looking but some poor design ideas

Start with the good. Great looking shoe. Seems very sturdy leather construction. As others have mentioned in reviews the fault of these shoes is in the tongue. The underside is made up of 2 pieces of material and there is a big seam that hits right on the top of the foot; this is pushed down even more as the laces fall on top of it all. This makes the shoe very uncomfortable and even cuts circulation off in the feet. So it makes them a return. Sadly Backcountry charges for returns now. It will make me think twice before ordering in the future.

daily wear shoes - comfortable on first day - I am hard on shoes, but these have held up to my punishment. Will get another pair

Disappointing
I've been wearing Vasque hiking shoes and boots for years. Specifically the Talus boot and the Mantra hiking shoe. Great products. Very comfortable. Unfortunately, I had to return the Talus At Low. They fit well except the shoe tongue "presses" into the tops of my feet causing discomfort and soreness. The underside of the tongue has a somewhat stiff/bulky sewn seam that connects two different types of fabrics. The seam "presses" into the tops of my feet. On my other Vasque boots and shoes, the fabric on the underside of the tongue is a single continuous piece with no seams. Much better for comfort. What also bums me out is that Vasque has been my go-to shoe and now I will have to find a different manufacturer. Also bring back the Mantra 2.0.
