    Refuse to wear traditional boots.

Even if it's dumping snow at prolific rates, you're usually rocking your favorite skate kicks as you hop over snow drifts and walk around puddles on the streets. Upgrade your winter protection without sacrificing clean, laid-back style with the Vans Men's SK8-HI MTE Boot. Designed for the casual wearer not content with traditional winter boots, the SK8-HI MTE Boot delivers water-resistant protection without sacrificing your style during inclement conditions.

The water-resistant leather uppers and cozy lining materials deliver comfort in spades when it's dumping snow or drizzling outside in winter. Vans uses a heat-retention layer that's sandwiched between the footbed and sole, preventing your feet from freezing in shivery-cold temperatures. Plus, you'll find the vulcanized rubber sole retains the flexibility you've come to expect from the classic SK8-HI Shoe, but it's upgraded with traction lugs for grip across snowy streets and icy sidewalks.

    • Skate-influenced style upgraded with winter protection
    • Mid-top design provides greater protection from the elements
    • Water-resistant leather repels oncoming rain, sleet, and snow
    • Cozy-warm lining materials and heat retention layer underfoot
    • Vulcanized rubber sole retains the flexibility of skate kicks
    • Upgraded with aggressive traction lugs for sure-footed grip

    Style

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 11
    • Height: 6'1"
    • Weight: 175lbs

We all know it is hard to find a decent looking pair of winter boots. Already a huge vans fan, I gave these a shot. They have mad style and are awesome for trudging around on cold winter days! Not a true full winter boot but they work great for most days.

    Look Cool, Not Supportive

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

These are marketed as a winter/all weather shoe, so first of all they have zero support and really aren't that warm. The toes especially are not warm. They look like high tops but there is absolutely nothing there for ankle support, and the insoles are non-existent. Like walking on flat cardboard non-existent.

The real problem is how Vans really markets these as all-weather winter shoes. They are not at all. If you have ever put on hiking boots, or even Chacos for that matter, these have nothing in comparison. Well the Chacos will be colder, but offer more support. If you are comparing these to Vans slip ons, then it makes sense to call them winter shoes.

Two stars because they look cool and have tons of colorways. If you want fashion "boots" to walk around on sidewalks when it's slightly chilly then go for it. If you're going to be standing for more than 30 minutes at a time then consider adding insoles.

Great Vans, best ones I own!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

These are great Vans and very comfortable for colder days for sure..Key for me is that they last nd are made well so that the soles don't come apart..I ahve been wearing Vans for 30 years! Lately been not too happy about the lack of quality from my much beloved classic slip ons, as I seem to go through endless pairs as they come apart at the sides so fast..
So there ones are amazing, can only recommend them to anyone..finally a winter show that keeps the summer vibe!

    Heavy Duty Vans

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 8.0
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 140lbs

These bad boys are exactly what I was looking for. At the end of the day, I'm a skateboarder and feel weird wearing anything that's not a skate shoe. However, I needed some heavy duty footwear that could hold up to winter walks in the dog park or simply navigating to 7-11 for coffee before heading up the canyon on a pow day. The Vans SK8 MTE makes all the difference.

These are nice and fuzzy inside with ever-so-slightly more room than a normal Vans skate shoe to allow for thicker sock on frigid days. I'm stoked to put the waffle-traction to the test once we get some snow! Overall, these look like a skate shoe and act like a fall/winter boot. Exactly what I wanted.

    Tempted to Buy Every Colorway

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 9.0
    • Height: 5'8"
    • Weight: 165lbs

Couldn't ask for a more stylish, functional, and comfortable shoe. Originally I picked up the Pat Moore colorway in a 9.5, but found them to be just a little too roomy. Traded them in for a 9.0 and they fit perfectly. Bit odd since my other Vans fit great and they're a 9.5. Then again, I think my feet are shrinking. Either way, you can't go wrong with this shoe. The sole provides the perfect amount of traction on snow and some ice. I found the cuffs around the ankle to be a little stiff, but after wearing them a few times, they're starting to break in. While providing a great look and feel, the water-resistant leather has held up after a few days of trudging through the snow. Loved them so much I picked up a second pair - light brown with red flannel accents/interior. Perfect for heading to the hill, work, or the bar. Always a huge fan of Vans, they've once again provided an exceptional product. You cannot go wrong with a pair of these...in any color.

    More Like Vans Gr8-Hi MTE

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 11.0
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 145lbs

These really are gr8 though. I am still breaking them in. They aren't necessarily uncomfortable at the moment, but I would like for them to be a bit more comfy and expect that to happen as I wear them more. I went with the Pat Moore's in a size 11. (Same size as I wear in regular vans.) They fit great, and I have been getting a ton of compliments on them! They have a bit of a fleece lining which has been keeping my dogs toasty. I can't speak too much just yet on how they perform in snow. They are "weather resistant." I would expect them to be fine in light snow, but probably not great for trudging through feet of powder. For an everyday winter shoe these are great!

    Love Them

I already own a pair of these, but I came back for more because these are great casual shoes to wear to the office/around in the wintertime. I own some big clunky winter boots, and they are great for severely inclement days, but are overkill for the office or when it is just cold, but not snowy/rainy.

These vans are water repellent, have awesome grip, and the upper is pretty well insulated, but the toebox is very thin, so don't plan to wear these for extended periods of time in the snow.

    Good.

The image shows Military but the description says Black/Gum. I really wanted these in black so I took a chance and it paid off. They arrived black/gum, fit true to size. Haven’t worn them in bad weather yet but they are lined and seem like they will be nice fall/winter Vans.

Let Me Tell You About These Vans..

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Size Bought: 11.5

First off, Pat Moore is the man. Guy is a beast on the snowboard, so picking these up was an obvious choice. The color way is awesome, and really goes with anything you are going to throw on. The shoes themselves are more durable than the average pair of vans, so they are going to last you. Real Warm and the fact that they are basically water proof( as long as you dont dunk your feet in water) made them an obvious purchase for my go to winter shoe. They do fit a tad big though, but nothing substantial. I normally wear and 11.5, and i did notice a little more room in the toe box, but it wasnt enough to exchange them out. Overall. id highly recommend adding these to the shoe quiver, you wont be disappointed
