    Make first contact.

Gigi Ruf wanted a binding that would complement his smooth, spontaneous style of riding, and Union delivered with the Contact Pro Snowboard Binding. It features ultra-lightweight construction and a softer flex to deliver total freedom and a surfy feel anywhere on the mountain. The bigger your binding's footprint, the more it affects the way your board flexes. That's why the Contact Pro remarkably only makes five percent contact with the board, allowing it to flex the way it was intended and giving you a more natural riding experience.

It also has the C Pro highback, which is extremely light and has an asymmetrical design to mimic your leg's natural shape for improved comfort. Multi-density EVA in the footbed allows for natural canting to reduce fatigue, and it also absorbs vibrations and shock for a smoother ride. An extruded 3D aluminum heelcup reduces weight while maintaining strength and stiffness. The Sonicfuse ankle strap provides a secure and responsive fit without creating painful pressure points, and the Ultra Grip toe strap is low-profile and cored-out to wrap around the front of your boot for a comfy and secure fit.

    A MUST Have

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

THE best bindings I have ever ridden. Ever. The Contact Pro's are a shredder's BFF. I have owned my pair of (Gigi Ruff) Contact Pro's for about three seasons now and with the occasional maintenance these will withstand the test of time.

Whether you are ripping through the trees and getting face-shots of endless powder or attempting to look like Mark McMorris in the park, these are IT.

The magnesium ratchets can withstand the gnarliest of conditions (i.e -20 F weather at Breckenfridge or a hot spring day at PCMR). The fit of the front toe strap is pretty sweet as well. I wear a size 11.5 Nike Snowboarding boot and went with the size L/XL and they fit like a glove. The base plate construction is amazing. I've cased a few medium jumps with these and luckily the soft, yet supportive cushion of these saved my fall enough to the point where I was only embarrassed that my friends were laughing at me... instead of aching because my entire lower body was in pain. I know it sounds abysmal, but trust me it helps to have that extra cushion for unexpected situations.

I'll shut up now and let you make the call. If you purchase these I guarantee you will never buy a different binding in the future. Period.

    Excellent Bindings

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

First experience with Union bindings and also the priciest model I have owned to date. Without a doubt, the best bindings I have used: Light, strong, and amazing feel. L/XL size worked perfectly with size 12 boots. Use for all-over-mountain riding in all conditions so far.

This is my third season in a row rocking these bad ass bindings. Truly one of the best bindings made out there. I use them all over the mountain and have never ran into any issues

I wear a size 11 boot and their is plenty of room within the straps to get a nice secure fit. I bought the L/XL.

You won't regret buying these bad boys!!!.

Before these I was using the Union Forces. They were a pretty good binding a little on the heavy side but still good. Well after using those for 3 years I decided to try something new. These bindings are super comfortable and are great for all types of riding. Trust me you can't go wrong with these.

    more like "Contact WHOA..."

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This binding is nuts! I bought a pair because I have been riding Union for years and when I saw all of the new ideas being implemented in this binding it piqued my curiosity and I couldn't help myself. The VaporLITE base tray is unbelievably comfortable and light weight, I would argue the lightest binding I have ever owned and I stay VERY current with my gear. I like to ride the whole mountain including some park and rails and this binding is surprisingly versatile. No matter what the conditions, no matter which board (so far I've ridden these on my Capita Indoor Survival and a Dino's Will Die) this binding is comfortable, high performance and just down right easy to use. Thanks for changing the game with this one UNION!

    Super lightweight and durable

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I used these bindings after using the Union Force bindings for years.

They're super light weight, have a good flex and response for well rounded types of snowboarding, and hang in there throughout the wear and tear of a normal binding no problem at all. After using the Forces for quite some time, the contact pros are my new go to binding.

What are the differences between the Union Contact Pros and the Union Forces? I'd call myself an intermediate rider who likes carving groomers and I'm just now to the point of getting comfortable hitting some rails and jumps in the park. But I'd like a binding that will help me progress through the years. Thanks for the help!

    Hey Chris,

So the bigger differences will be that the Contact is softer but still responsive, its freestyle orientated where the Force is freeride orientated, even though at the less expensive side. The Contact has nice materials and will last you longer.

A nice responsive binding will up your game.

I went to stiffer and stiffer bindings with just my riding style and did really enjoy the Force. The contact's softer highback kept me away even though its lighter.

    Hope that helps..

what size binding would i go with if i wear a 8.5 boot? there's overlap in their sizing chart ... if i could fit into the s/m or the m/l what would lead me to one or the other?

    Best Answer

    Hi Patrick,

There is an overlap in the sizing for a size 8.5. What I would do is go with the bigger binding. I find the the contact pro fits better when you size up, in a case like this. Also depends on what boot you have.

I'm an experienced rider, and prefer to ride back country and haul ass. Currently riding the T. Rice Libtech. Most of my hits are thrown off natural terrain jumps. I do roll through the park on occasion, but thats not my focus. Would you say there is another binding at a similar price point that would be more suitable for me? Thank you!

    Hey David,

I think this binding will be perfect for you. I do the exact same type riding and have been on these bindings all year and LOVE them. I wish I could have them on my split too.

This binding provides enough resistance to be about to stomp big hits and hold an edge when you need it most wail at the same time giving you a great board feel and movement.
