Inspired by haute-couture, cultivated by rainfall.

UBR started off making coats in London, where the only standard higher than British fashion is the amount of precipitation, which is why the sleek Men's Regulator II Insulated Coat has similar protection to most expedition jackets. Its Regulator membrane has some of the highest waterproof, breathable ratings available in the outdoor industry, and UBR integrated the membrane into a high-class, clean, luxurious style. UBR also added a DWR coating for extra protection against rain and snow.

The Regulator's shell also has a four-way stretch, something rarely found in coats with waterproof, breathable membranes, but since it has a slim fit, UBR needed to make sure you could move freely in this fashionable coat. UBR stuffed this coat with Primaloft Sport for breathable warmth that's more than welcoming from fall to spring. There are Automagnetix magnet fastenings to further accentuate the coat's authentically clean style, and UBR hooked it up with side pockets and multiple internal pockets that protect your valuables.

    Classy and Chic

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XL
    • Height: 6'3"
    • Weight: 190lbs

If you aren't already convinced by the other reviews for this jacket, then you're being to skeptical. Just get it. It's classy, slick, Storm-Proof, and downright dashing. It fits perfectly over a suit and still gives you enough room to breathe and dance if you're feeling that crazy about it. I am 6'3" and 190 lbs. with broad shoulders and a chiseled face... It fits like a dream. I thought of getting it in large but it's true, Size up! The cuffs come to the middle back of my hand but doesn't come to my knuckles so to me, it's exactly what you want when it's storming. I recommend gloves so the experience becomes even better. Just get the Coat!

    Fits great, color is off

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I really like the jacket's fit and feel, but the black (midnight storm) is most definitely not black. The Backcountry was great about sending me a replacement when it seemed like I was sent the wrong color. (tags on the first jacket didn't indicate color). Just know it won't match your black pants.

Exactly what I was looking for.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: XL
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 210lbs

    5' 10.5", 210 lbs., 36 waist, 42 R jacket, 34" sleeve.
I ordered both a L and and a XL. I typically wear a size L with the exception of Arc'teryx, where I need an XL in some of their shirts. The L fit perfect with only a T-shirt on. However, I bought it for use with a sport coat or a mid-weight sweater. With the sport coat the L was too small in the shoulders. With the XL, the fit was fine with the sport coat - with the exception of the sleeves being too long. I'll have the sleeves altered. The overall fit went from what I would describe as a form fitting Slim fit in the L to a Trim fit in the XL. I needed a full length overcoat that is light, compresses well for packing into carry-on luggage, warm, and inclement weather capable - plus fashion forward. This works great. My advice to you is to order your standard size and the next size up for comparison and plan to return one of the two.
Update: A year later, I'm thinking of getting another color. The coat worked great through the winter of 2017/2018. I live in the South USA, but travel for work to New England on a regular basis. I was stranded in Boston a couple of times last year due to weather and this coat allowed me to leave the hotel on foot and comfortably get about town. Cold wind and rain were not an issue. The wind near the bay made an umbrella a non option. I wish Uber made matching headwear of the same fabric, but I have found suitable offerings elsewhere. I like being able to put this in my carry-on luggage and have it come out looking great and ready to go. I also received multiple unsolicited compliments from strangers ( a couple of them from attractive young women) - so that was memorable.

This is the third jacket I purchased from uber and by far its my favorite! Uber makes very stylish casual jackets, only available @Backcountry, that makes a hip cat such as myself even hipper! Coupled with a black turtleneck sweater, I give Steve McQueen a run for his money. My 10 year old stated my wearing the jacket make the ladies take notice and look twice, initiating the internal debate if it is the clothes that make the man or the man that make the clothes! Regardless of my internal angst, the jacket has earned me the moniker, Chick Magnet! Thank you uber you truly made me an uber man in the fashion world of Bethel, Maine

Uber Regulator - Perfect Business Travel

I just love this coat. It's ideal for business travel. Incredibly versatile. Warm yet very lightweight. I've searched for years for a great business travel coat. Finally this one is perfect. Love it. Great Backcountry service as usual.

      Weird sizing

Not sure about other Uber coats, which are labeled "regular" or "tailored" fit, but this one... I always thought "slim" should mean "no beer belly". This coat is way too tight in the shoulders and underarms, but if I had a belly, I'd be able to fit in. The size chart makes me a "large", but it is very uncomfortable with just a T-shirt underneath, let alone something more substantial. Sleeve length is more than adequate, hence I don't think I should try an XL. I might fit in the shoulders, but it would be anything but 'slim'.
