Sturdy

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Installation: The tent arrives with minimal assembly required. You just need to attach the mounting rails and ladder then bolt to your roof rack. You'll want to check https://tepui.com/pages/thule-rack-rooftop-tent-fit-guide to make sure this tent is compatible with your rack. My wife and I were able to lift this onto the roof of my Jeep without too much trouble, though we are both about 6' tall. Setting up and take down: Once you've opened it up a few times, you can have the tent ready to go in just a few minutes. If you need to be at a trailhead for sunrise, the takedown is equally as fast. Comfort and durability: The included memory foam mattress is soft enough for both back and side sleepers. If you like a really soft mattress, you could get a memory foam topper to add to it. There are plenty of windows for venting or looking up at the stars. The walls of the tent are thick enough to let you sleep in well past sunrise if you wanted to, while still being pretty dark inside. One issue I ran into was flapping from the rain fly in high winds. If the wind comes from the side, it can make a lot of noise near the top. Since there was no chance of rain, I just took the fly off and was really impressed with the solidness of the tent, there was very little noise even with 20mph+ winds. This is listed as a 3 person tent, but I'm only using it for 2 and it's very spacious, both side to side and overhead. I'd recommend testing out a 56" wide space if you plan on sleeping 3 to make sure there's enough room. Overall, I love this tent for it's comfort and the ability to easily set up anywhere you find a relatively flat space. You don't have to worry about rocky campsites, sticks, animals, damp soil, snow, or much else when you're above it all.

Will this tent work with a 2013 Subaru Outback with a factory rack, rails and foldable cross bars?
