Why We Like The Corus Quilt
When we're looking to save space and weight on shoulder-season backpacking trips, this down-insulated quilt wraps our achy bodies in sleep-ready warmth. The Corus Quilt is part of a worry-free sleep system that avoids the restriction, fussy zippers, and overheating that comes with traditional sleeping bags. The Corus is smaller and more versatile than a sleeping bag, and when paired with an insulated pad, the integrated system keeps us warm and allows us to toss and turn the way we would back home in bed.

No more traditional sleeping bags. I'm a quilt fan
Amazing!!! Got it for a backpacking trip in the Rocky Mountains. This was my first time using a quilt, and I loved it! I can't go back to the traditional sleeping bag. The temperature at night dropped to the low 40s and I was sweating.

Better than a bag
We've been (family) using these quilts now for years and choose then consistently over sleeping bags in almost every situation. Yes - they are more drafty than a bag, but the footbox fits well over the end of a pad to keep it steady and the benefits in comfort and freedom of movement are massive = esp. on warmer summer nights. We use them regularly in the mid 30's and above, but pair it with a warmer pad r-value when we know it will be cold. (xtherm or TrailPro) or the older NeoAir All Season). If there's any question, we even bring an extra that can be used over top of two people sideways, or even an extra one per person. In addition to summer backpacking, we also use them religiously on road trips year-round, around the fire, and even sitting on the porch at home. Highly recommend.

Great design
A very simple, versatile, warm down blanket. For ASFOD’s like me (Anglo-Saxon-fat-old-dude) a down blanket offers plenty of room for tossing and turning in the night, and easy to get up in the middle of the night to pee- a definitive character trait of ASFOD’s. Cascade Design excels once again in great product design for outdoor wilderness travel- the only way to go.

Better than a sleeping bag
I have used this quilt for many summer and fall adventures. I like that I can sleep in different positions like a blanket, but keeps me warm like a sleeping bag. I have only used in in mild (lows in the 40s) temperatures so I can't state how well it works in really cold temps.

Simple and effective
Great setup live in Colorado have done a few backpack trips digging the light weight and small pack size and not fighting zippers.

I couldn't wait to try this quilt...
Bought this quilt for 2 reasons, save weight and mummy bags are too restrictive. It is comfortable and lightweight but it provides no insulation from the cold. I used it for 5 nights, all nights were mid-30's, no freezing temps. Had to wake up and redistribute the fill 3-4 times per night and put on multiple extra layers, on top of the base layer, hat, socks, and gloves I was already wearing. Here is the problem, which should have been obvious before I even tried this out, the baffles are all horizontal. When you lay under it the down all falls off to the sides, you end up with no insulation on top of you. Tossing and turning speeds up this process. I loved to idea of this quilt, but I think I will have to look elsewhere.
