Furnace-like warmth where you need it.

Its name will become pretty darn self-explanatory the second you zip up The North Face Women's Corefire Jacket. Built to battle frigid temps all day on the ski hill, this jacket has 550-fill goose down and Heatseeker insulation to deliver toasty warmth straight to your (you guessed it) core. Furthering your defense against the cold, a Gore Windstopper construction deflects piercing, frozen gusts, while the DWR-finish helps resist water from soaking your situation. A four-snap, snap-down powder skirt prevents snow from sneaking in when you're getting the goods, and the underarm venting allows you to dump heat if the weather turns and conditions begin to warm up.

    All Around Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: small

I wanted a jacket with a lot of pockets to take to the slopes but also a jacket that I could wear around town. The sleek black is perfect...its a more fitted TNF. I do wish the waist was nipped in just a tad more. I am between a XS and Small...I ended up keeping the small so that I can add layers in extreme temps. I have to say that Backcountry's customer service is nothing short of spectacular. Maia overnighted me two sizes in this jacket with no added shipping cost as well as a free return label for the jacket that didn't work. Maia emailed me and called me with multiple suggestions. Ultimately, one of her suggestions was this jacket. I can't say enough about this company! They truly want you to have the perfect item...there just aren't enough companies like this today. Kudos to BC!

If I could bring myself to it, I'd get 3 of these. I get cold, really cold. But this jacket has kept me warm on a 1 degree day in Colorado. As a woman that is annoyed with teeny tiny pockets, or not enough pockets, this jacket is the perfect balance of style and performance. The design fits well, is an awesome red (not too fire engine, not too orange) and is slimming at the waist - perfect to wear around town. It's also warm enough to take to the slopes as an outer layer. I wore it with a light base and mid layer and was perfectly warm without feeling too bulky. With its forearm pocket for my chapstick and ski pass, its outer chest pocket for my phone, inner chest pocket for my cards and cash, large inner pocket big enough for a small DSLR camera, and two super big and warm waist pockets it' s pretty much perfect. Throw in an extended back length to cover your behind + a powder skirt, it's the last winter jacket I will ever need. I've even worn it as a belay jacket, kept me warm even then without moving.
