Stupidly small in the foot. It is short and narrow. Even for a TNF offering, these are small. You'll likely get your calf in if you're not obnoxiously thin (in which case you'll probably won't get these laced snugly), but the size of the foot is fully a size too small, if not moreso. In contrast the shaft is big at the ankle to the point where snug lacing really isn't possible. I was looking for a tall snow boot, but this one came right up to my knee. I wouldn't have minded that, but the lacing system is exactly as much fun as you'd think it is. It's not an ugly boot, but there are certainly better-looking boots out there. In fact, the mid-height model of these is more attractive with a better fit in the shaft, but they have the same narrow, tapered-toe foot design. I'd recommend you check out the mids and order a full size up if you have a very narrow foot. There isn't enough good about the talls worth dealing with the sizing and overall fit.

These boots are awesome

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I got these at the start of the season and they have been amazing. I use them when the snow is deep or slushy or when the temps get bitterly brutal. My feet stay dry and warm AND comfy through it all!!! I have to walk two big dogs for miles each day through whatever the weather throws at me and, even on icy walks, the grip is great! I love love love them (the boots and the dogs!!) : )

A New Favorite

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Just got these boots and I must say I am pleasantly surprised! The quality is spectacular and just right for Wisconsin winter! We had an early snowfall and my feet stayed nice and warm! Being a short female of five foot two I did not feel as though they were too tall. I must say North Face has won me over! I am normally a Sorel girl but decided to give these a chance and I must say I am very pleased!

super comfy, just not for me

The North Face Shellista Tall boots are easily the most comfortable boots that I have ever put on my feet.....they feel like walking on a cloud. They fit 100% true to size, and are super soft on the inside. That being said, I am returning these boots for a pair of mid boots. The boots are typical tall boot height and have laces. Unfortunately, I can't get the laces tight enough for the boot shaft to fit right. I don't know if this could be fixed by wearing thicker socks or something, but they just don't work for me.
