Great versatile jacket.
For some strange reason I love wearing ski jackets as normal town jackets and I think this jacket deserves a place in my wardrobe. Here are my findings and toughts: 1.- It serves good for a layering system. I have worn a base layer or t-shirt then a hoodie a puffy jacket and then this jacket on top confortably with no restrictions for those extreme winter days. I'm 5-8" 180 lbs wearing an L size. 2.- It has better coverage than town jackets. The high neck hood covers you up to your lips and if you tilt your head a little it almost covers your nose so you get to breath the warm air coming from your body. Also the neck is confortable to your skin. When you have the hood down the high neck reaches your chin so it protects all your neck from the cold air. The sleeves have the same long lenght as any other SKI jacket from Patagonia or Eddie Bauer so in case you dont have gloves you can cover most part of your hands with the long sleeves. The overall length of the jacket is good for my size (5-8"). Not too long to interfere my legs and long enought to cover my rear and genitals. The buttons on the snow skirt are easy to button and separate. So you can button the snow skirt to prevent cold air to come up inside your jacket toghether with the hem adjustment. 3.- Pockets: the two front pockets are fleece lined and confortable, the chest pocket is an okay size for a regular cell phone. 4.- Vents: Altought Im not a very fan of mesh vents I havent felt the difference in breathability compared to non-meshed vents. I have worn this jacket in the spring showers (warmer weahter) with the vents open and the front zipper open (just the front velcros closing the jacket enough to prevent the rain to come in and all the air to pass thru the front and pit vents) and I didnt overheat at all. Not sure if it will work this way in a real downpur but at least light to moderate rain will do using the velcros only. 5.-DryVent Shell: so far the jacket feels very windproof and very waterproof and is not too hard or noisy when wearing. 6.-Overall feel: Its an easy jacket to wear and confortable. I havent use it to actually ski but it has everything a skier would need and it has a great range of movement in the arms. The only thing I dont like about the jacket is the white North Face logo (which is in the front and the back). I bought the black jacket and the logo can be seen like five blocks away. I prefer more subtle logos like Patagonia or Eddie Bauer but this is just me.

Never received the jacket

I purchased the jacket from Backcountry and the order never arrived. I received the purchase confirmation and after about a week of waiting checked back to see why the delivery was sent. My order number was no longer available and after talking to the customer service agent found out that they never completed my order. There was no communication about the cancelation, and if I did not reach out it would not have been noticed. They offered to repurchase the product, but of course, they no longer had it in stock. Very disappointing experience.

Perfect travel jacket
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Surprisingly warm for how thin and lightweight this jacket is. Just wore a T-shirt underneath and was warm in 35-40 degree Hokkaido weather. Water repellent and stayed dry in light snow and rain

Would buy again
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pros: wore this in 30degree weather in Sapporo Japan. Thin and breathable, but surprisingly warm for how thin the jacket was. Didn't even layer, just wore a T Shirt underneath. Stiff when new but softened up after couple days. Cons: weather flap Velcro is heavy duty and aggressive. If you are not careful it easily snags and can ruin delicate clothing
