Disappointed in new style

I have several pairs of Aphrodite shorts from years prior. I am a size 4/6 and size SM in the old style are a tad on the tight side, so I ordered these in M hoping to get a relaxed fit, but the M are even tighter. Also the pocket placement is very unflattering. I wish they hadn't changed the style because the old ones are my go-to shorts.
