I bought this boot for two purposes, the first being waterproof and second being that it is mostly leather (job requirement). I researched around, and this boot received strong ratings so I picked these. Iv been wearing them for three months now, for short hikes and all day back country hiking. Pros: The water proofing is efficient. My feet stay dry when crossing small streams and heavy rain. I also like the style of boot, and the vibrant sole provides great traction. Cons: The rubber toe cap on the left boot became loose at the top, and has ripped to resemble a hang nail of sorts. Iv tried shoe goo with no success, and this occurred after a month of owning them (has no impact on water proofing yet). The soles of the boots are too soft. Very comfortable for the first hours of wear, but agitate your feet with extended uses (all day). A firmer cushion would help alleviate the discomfort after all day use. This may be a personal preference, but the toe box is too big. My foot feels secure in the boot, but there is too much wiggle room for the ball of my foot/toes even when wearing thick socks. These boots also do not ventilate well. I have only used these in the winter, but I still get left with sweaty feet (and a wet inside of boot). Iâm aware that leather and water proofing makes ventilation difficult, but Iâm dreading the upcoming summer months. Overall, I wouldnât recommend these boots. For nearly $200 (I paid $180+, I see now the price has dropped), there are more quality boots in this price range. I typically wear my gear till it breaks, but I donât think I can make it to that point in these boots. Will likely replace soon.
