Why We Built The Stoic Shell Anorak

Great features Great price

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:
Large

Used it about 5 spring ski days so far. Best bang for the dollar I could find on the Internet machine. Two way pit zips, oversized adjustable hood, RFID pocket on sleeve, two way front zip for venting, soft chin insert to keep it snuggly out of the wind and great shell fabric . My only question about this anarack is who picked all the pink zippers which I'm starting to accept as a fashion statement?

Stoic Shell Anorak

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer
Size Bought:
medium

I've been using the anorak for over a month now and the only thing they got wrong was the design of the side pockets. The storm flap faces forward. I think it should face the back of the anorak. Any type of snow or driving rain would have a tendency to enter under the storm flap and enter the pockets. Plus, when you go to put your hands into the pocket you have to pull the flap back to get then into the pocket. Your hands don't flow into the pockets. Other than that, it's a nice product.

Hood? Or parachute?

Im 5'9". I ordered a large, but this fits like XL. The sleeves go 4 " past my hands. And that hood could be used for a tent. Too bad the material is real nice. And the colors are cool. Workmanship is quality. Just sized wrong.

Great minimalist design with just the right features for resort riding. No powder skirt or thumb holes but has everything else you’d need. Pleasantly surprised with the quality compared to the price.

Awesome starter jacket!

Needed a nice jacket that both could keep me warm and be solid for learning snowboarding on the ice. After 5 trips and some heavy falls, it's holding up solid. The white part has stained a little, but that's with fine, and to be expected. The double zipper front pocket and underarm zips are perfect for days where your sweating on the lift. Highly recommend!

This is a great anorak for someone wanting a comfy, lightweight, and less-intense jacket for resort riding. I bought this to wear when my gore-tex shell would be overkill, and before I could just ride in a big hoodie. It has everything you need, and not much you don't. The fit is good, and the jacket is flexible, which is really important for a freeride snowboarder like me. I do have one minor gripe, and that is that there is a zip only on the right side to fully open the jacket for warm days. This would be great for a normal-stance, but I'm goofy and when I unzip it while riding the whole jacket billows out and flaps around like a trash bag in the wind. I wish there was a zipper on the opposite side I could use.

Great quality, peculiar fit

I returned this product before using it

I really wanted to like this good looking anorak, but the fit wasn’t quite right. Oddly narrow at the bottom of the trunk. I might have tried a larger size if not for the unwieldy “helmet sized” hood that could house a small country. Maternal and construction was quality. I love the simple design. Backcountry quickly honored their return policy.
