    Get creative with it.

The Sterling Minor Cord Mini Spool has thousands of practical uses for camping and backpacking, and it has an infinite amount of impractical uses for fun. Practical uses include tie-down straps, hanging your food to keep it from bears, stringing a clothes line, lashing your gear together, replacing snapped shoelaces, and crafting a makeshift dog leash. Impractical uses consist of building squirrel traps, tripwires, or a completely unreliable swing. Get creative with it—you have fifty feet of cord after all.

You can never have too much cord.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought a couple of spools of this cord. It has so many uses and is great to have around. The plastic spool also makes it way easier to use and store than the cord you'd typically buy at a hardware store.

    Cheap and effective

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

It's cheap, strong, and comes in cool colors. I keep some in my bike commuting bag along with a rope-tightener just in case, and have used it replace some worn-out zipper pulls.

    Too Many Uses to Count

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The thing that always has a spot in my junk drawer at home is a spool of Sterling Minor Cord. From setting up a line to hang dry merino layers to rigging up a tarp for shade in the desert, Minor Cord is a cheap and durable solution in many situations.
