Not as good as hoped
- I've used it several times
- True to size
I did quite a bit of research and this seemed like the best product for my needs. I would have liked it to be portable (spillproof), but most of those products have a small lid opening and it was very important for me to have something easy to clean. Other products like this were more geared to storing food, so not as convenient for pouring a beverage, which is what I mainly wanted. I definitely like this product and the size is perfect. It's ideal for making a pot of tea or coffee. What I don't like: 1) The lid is a somewhat strange design. It's very thick at about two inches, but it's hollow, and there are small holes for the press to pass through. This means that area is impossible to access, and could be a place for pathogens or bacteria to grow. The product documentation even alludes to this, saying "Do not use with warm milk products or baby food. This will minimize bacterial growth." They don't come out and say it, but what they really mean is that hollow area in the lid could get contaminated and impossible to clean - when you raise the press, your beverage will leak into the hollow space. It also means the lid is not vacuum sealed and facilitates heat loss (another fault). The lid also doesn't seal, which allows heat loss around the edges. It's a very strange and bad design. 2) This item does not keep the beverages hot for as long as I expected. In my experience up to two hours is all you can expect for your beverage to stay hot. After that, there is a noticeable drop in temperature and the drink becomes lukewarm. I was really hoping to see 8-12 hours of hot time. 3) Obviously, I don't like that it isn't portable, but I was willing to live with that tradeoff. In conclusion, the concept is good but the execution is only moderately successful. It's effective as a French press or teapot, but it seems like a fringe/niche product that has some design flaws and was not adequately tested.

Great product, awesome company
- I've put it through the wringer
I use this coffee press every day. Works better than any coffee press I’ve ever use, and I’ve used a lot. My only complaint is that I paid full price for it about a year ago, when they first came out. Stanley stands strongly behind all of their products. That’s why you don’t return it to the store, can you contact Stanley. They do have a lifetime warranty on all of their products.

Perfect For Car Camping
- I've used it several times
Nothing worse than going for your second cup of coffee on a cold morning at camp only to find the french press freezing cold already. Those days are over with this french press. My coffee stays piping hot throughout the morning. It's a great feeling piece that I can tell will last for years. It also makes 48oz so theres always enough to go around if you have a big group

Bad product with lousy service
Coffee press fell apart approximately 6 weeks after receiving it. Coleman says lifetime warranty but Backcountry doesn't and only gave % of a store credit, no refund. We won't be back.
