Its Xt.L laminate keeps water out, and Thinsulate insulation keeps the cold at bay so he'll stay warm and dry all day long. To protect this jacket from your rough and tumble boy, Spyder included a Spylon+ DWR coating and an anti-abrasion Desco overlay film by Bemis.

    The Leader Jacket also features a protective powder skirt to keep snow out. A hood shields his head on stormy days and can be removed when the sun decides to shine. Interior stretch cuffs with thumbholes keep his sleeves in place and feel comfortable against his skin. The adjustable cuffs and hem help seal out cold so he won't have to stop and lose his place at the head of the pack.

    Great ski jacket for 10 year old

    Loved our first Spyder jacket and got two full seasons out of it. Just received the Blue/Bryte Green in size 18 for my 10 y.o. who is 5'1, 105 lbs. Glad I read reviews and sized up...he's ready for adventures! Nice features, warmth, cool colors.

    I ordered this for my 8 yr old son. He loves it! It's great quality and the extended thumb holes are an awesome addition. Through reading other reviews I decided to buy a larger size. As I said, he is 8 yrs old (normal height and weight ) and I went with the size 14 in hopes it would allow for some growing. It fits him perfectly, and with just a little bit of extra room it should fit for at least the first half of next season. I would definitely buy again. Just remember to go 2 or 3 sizes up.

    We've now returned two of these for our 10 year old - the first a 14, the next a 16. Honestly, it's more than a little disappointing to have treat an order for a kids' ski jacket like it's mens' tailored clothing. Yes he's a big kid for his size but he's not as big as the average 18 year old??!

    Before ordering, check that size chart and carefully consider how big you want it to fit, if you intend to get more than one season out of it. The difference between sizes in this jacket is slight.

    Bought for ten year old who wears a 10 in all clothing, including outerwear. Had to keep returning and ordering to get to the right size, a 16!! Zipper gets stuck almost daily, and it's not as warm as his Bean 3 in 1 jacket. BUT he loves it and looks super cool. Perfect for his ski look. And Backcountry was FANTASTIC about all the returns. So helpful.
