This is a great shoe in the summer for looking a little more presentable than flip-flops while still remaining comfortable. They also work as a casual cocktail attire shoe.

I've long had my eye on a pair of these, finally decided to take the plunge, and am happy to have done so. They're comfortable and look great for casual summer wear.

I own a couple pairs of sperrys, which are always the perfect shoe for summer if it's not flip-flops. Super comfortable, classic style, and practical means I rock these with anything - shorts, jeans, chinos - all pair well.

Sperry for life

Living in Utah, but as an east coast transplant we have to keep some of our traditions alive. Rocking a Sperry to kick off the weekends is one of those. Great fit and quality that’d you’d expect from this brand

I have been wearing top siders for 11 years now, and go through a pair or two every year or two. I will never stop buying them. They are stylish and super comfortable, and last through all the abuse I put on them. You don't need to be a seaman to wear boat shoes! They are just leather covered flip flops that make you look classier. I am a 10.5 in most shoes and I have to wear 11 in top siders, always have though, as their sizing is super consistent. Once you find your size you wont have to think about it again for the next pair you will inevitably buy.

Love My Top-Siders

Fit:

I have been buying them for years. They are durable and comfortable. I wear one of several pairs almost every day. Never had any quality issues in the past, but the insoles immediately fell out of the pair I bought in February 2014, like they were not glued in right. BackCountry was great and sent me another pair, and within a month the right insole of the replacement pair started peeling up. It is only a quarter inch, but it makes them uncomfortable so I don't wear them much. I did not heave the heart to send the second pair back. (I have had another pair for over a decade, still wearing them with no such issue.) I don't know if it was just a bad quality run or what. I bought a pair in a different color here on BackCountry in March of 2015 and have worn those almost every day with no issues.

Good looking shoe, soft leather to the touch but good quality; purchased the Sahara (great camel color, the photo is pretty true) and it's great for casual work setting, or a day off. He wears them constantly. He's already deciding on the next color to join his collection.

These break in very quickly and are quite comfortable for pretty much any activity, they have good grip on wet surfaces and the leather shrugs off pretty much everything I've thrown at it!

Between church and summer formal wear you can't beat these. They look great and are fairly comfortable. I have had two pairs of these and my first pair have been through everything, wear those for anything then have another pair for church and events that I really need to look nice.

Are the Sahara colored ones a lot darker in person than they are in the picture? On all other sites, they seem a lot darker.

The color you are seeing is very accurate.

Can you wear these shoes without socks?

Can you wear these shoes without socks?

They can, and they are a classic, but I'm long past my Biffster phase. All the richest millionaire yachtsmen have at least a pair or two that they swear by. Perfectly acceptable for cocktails after the regatta, too. They did get a little ripe on me from time to time, and they did take a while to really get that "well-worn" look and feel, but when they did soften up, great shoes. The Olukais are pretty much a more casual, lived-in form of the Sperrys. They're also maybe what I would call about 3/4 broken-in right out of the box...really soft and buttery shoes. Hope this helps.

I've bought my husband a new pair of these every other summer for 25 years! It's all he wears all summer. He's not a sneaker guy so he uses the old pair for things like cutting the grass, launching the boat and in and out of water. As far as size for him, I order the same size as any other shoe he would wear. My son, who has also gotten hooked on these, prefers a half size smaller than other shoes he owns. He feels that the leather stretches and then his feet are slipping in them.
