2 great years & time to retire

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've had these boots for 2 years, and there's nowhere they haven't been. Rain, snow, slush, mud, mountains, street and campground. They're a quick on & off (I've worn holes in the inside lining from lazily sliding on/off instead of lacing). Cons are once these get wet they transfer the cold to your feet, even with cabin socks. Also traction on ice is hilariously absent with the herringbone tread pattern. But hey, they're rain boots.

At long last, the waterproofing is starting to give in where the sole and upper meet so I'll be retiring them from puddle jumping. These are my 3rd pair of Sorels and none of them have disappointed.

Great boot!

Love these things. They keep my feet warm and dry, easy to put on and take off, and are really cute! I am happy with the size too- I don't feel like these are clunky or hard to walk in, yet I can still wear them with wool socks. Definitely glad I didn't size down or up!

    Sorel Out N About

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought these as a gift. She really likes them, they keep her feet dry and warm. Obviously not great if you are walking in deep snow. However if you are walking around town and it's snowy or rainy outside, these are perfect. They fit true to size.

    Wife's Favorite Boot

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought these for my wife and she loves them. They seem to fit a tad small but stretch out after a few wears. She normally wears a 7.5 in Sorel, but went with an 8 in these. Also bought the kid version for my daughter.

So cute & comfy but TOO small!

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I thought that a 7 would fit considering I am a 6-1/2-7 in most shoes. However, I didn't take into consideration wearing thicker socks. I ended up opting for an 8 so compensate for the thicker socks. Otherwise, they are so cute and really comfy! Would definitely recommend, so long as you get the right size!

    Perfection!

I ordered these in the black and they’re absolutely perfect! They don’t make my feet look huge and clunky, and they go with anything and everything. As for the sizing, they do run a bit small. I recommend sizing up - a half size if you’re looking for a normal fit, and a full size if you’re looking for a looser fit to accommodate thick socks. For reference, I’m between a 6.5 and 7 and ordered a 7.5. They fit perfect, but will probably be a bit tight with my thicker wool socks. Not a problem for me, I think they’ll get a bit roomier as they get more wear. Super comfortable too! I forget that I’m wearing rain boots, even while spending a day walking around and shopping in them! Probably going to have to order another color soon...

      Great winter boot!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

For winter in salt lake these boots are perfect. Not so insulated that I can't wear them when it's 40 degrees in the valley and still perform great when I'm driving up the canyons to go snowboarding.

IF YOU THINK YOU SHOULD SIZE DOWN BECAUSE YOU HAVE THE JOAN OF ARCTICS IN A SIZE SMALLER THAN YOUR STREET SHOE: DON'T!
The Out n About boots run SMALL unlike their sisters the Caribou and Joan of Arctics.

Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you're having trouble finding the right size for you. My direct email is 801-204-4694 and email is kswistak@backcountry.com

      LOVE and so Comfortable

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I wanted a pair of rain boots that were shorter and had the same appeal as Bean Boots or Sperry, but flatter. These are perfect. I will buy another pair in a different color. I wear them in the rain and snow.

      stylish AND functional

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The first thing I'd like to get across is that these do RUN SMALL. I ordered a half size up. These boots are great because you're still getting the functionality of a snow boot, without the bulk. they are stylish, and they also do really well with traction, and warmth. I highly recommend!

      Cute shoe, but odd fit

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I typically wear a size 6.5-7 and went up 1/2-1 full size (7.5) due to reviews that said these shoes run small. It felt a little loose, but we’re okay with thick wool sucks. However, the opening of the shoe felt very uncomfortable at the ankles. I am unsure if it felt that way because I went up a full size. Maybe going up 1/2 a size would have felt better . There’s also little to no arch support. Sadly, I will be returning these. Bummer since they looked so cute !

Solid Boots, Size Up one full size

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These boots are great, they're super functional and comfortable to wear for everyday use! I typically wear a size 9.0-9.5 and I ended up getting a 10.5 in these particular shoes. The 10.5 fits perfectly, so I would absolutely recommend sizing up one full size as some of the other reviews have mentioned! I haven't had these boots for an extended period of time, but from my initial impressions, they are super sturdy and look as if they'll hold up to the elements for a while.

      Cool boots

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I got these boots for my wife and she really likes them as an every day winter boot. Since they have low sides they aren't great for more than a skiff of snow, but they do keep her feet warm and seem to have good traction. Fit was spot on and she thinks they are super cute!

      Great Boots!

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I gave these to my sister in law for Christmas and she adores them! She was looking for an everyday wear boot in the winter that was both functional and stylish and the Sorel Out N' About are exactly that. Great boot, good fit, keeps her warm and super cute.

      Wanted these a long time.

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've wanted this style of boot for several years. They are super cute, but they don't appear to be the coziest of shoes. They seem well made, and I expect to have them a long time.

      Love This Boot

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love this boot. Super cute under jeans or with skinny jeans. They feel like slippers after you yank off your ski boots. Only 2 verrry small issues: 1 - they get a little clammy if I wear them too long and , 2 - The top edge is a little rough and chaffes my ankels unless I wear long socks.

      Run small

I love these boots- especially the idea of wearing them on rainy days (they’re waterproof). However, I found that they run a little small, especially if you want to wear a thick sock with them (they’re not lined). I’m usually an 8.5 but I think I need a 9 in these. Otherwise I love then!

        Unanswered Question

Has anyone bought the black Sorel out n about boots? If so is the rubber black or gray? The picture shows the upper part of the boot is black and lower gray and then another picture showed upper and lower is black. Also I have another pair of sorel boots 7.5, should I order an 8.5 in these since they run small?

        Thank you
        Hilary
