Titanium is super strong and super lightweight, making the Snow Peak Titanium Fork and Spoon Set the ultimate for camping, hiking, backpacking, and any activity for which you must pack your own utensils. Titanium does not impart a metallic flavor to your food, and it will not rust like other metals. If only backpacker meals were this good.
- 1.4oz total weight
- Storage sleeve
- Item #SNO000G
- Q & A
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Flew all over the universe with these in my carry-on. Finally ran into security in Fethiye Turkey who said I could not carry them on as I might stab someone with the fork. WTF? But I refused to turn them over and instead checked them in separate backpack. They were so intent on my fork, they didn't see a real knife I I had in my bag which I checked. The manager was furious at them. As soon as I got on plane, aircrew handed out the exact same fork. Sadly they went overboard off my sailboat, so buying another pair.
Lightweight and sturdy
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
These are great. They’re just like using regular silverware only they weigh next to nothing. The little sleeve is convenient and easy to use as well.
Compact and Rugged
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I used these for the first time this past weekend in the Moab desert, and they definitely impressed. The case is my favorite part. It keeps everything together and takes up no space at all in a pack. They're rugged little utensils and feels way better eating with something strong versus that plastic crap. They look great took. I paired them with the MSR plates, and it's a great set. Don't waste your time or money with the other plastic backpacking options.
Fulltime Set Up
A few years ago I purchased the knife, spoon, fork set. I enjoyed it so much, I went ahead and got some more for fulltime use in the house. I didn't purchase the set with the knife because it's really not that sharp and I have other sharp knives that do the job. That being said, I own:
No complaints. I went with this titanium set originally because I wanted titanium but couldn't stand the feel of the less expensive stuff (it was like nails on a chalkboard for me when my skin touched it). This titanium is very smooth.
They clean well, are durable and are great platforms for food when delivering to your mouth.
Nice little fella
Almost as light as plastic
