    Ultralight and ultra-reliable.

Singing Rock's Penta Climbing Helmet is so ultralight that you'll barely notice, until rocks come pummeling down and you're still conscious. This helmet's hard PC shell prevents sharp objects from penetrating, while the PS foam absorbs impacts on falls. There are 11 large vents for comfortable airflow in summer conditions. There is also a flexible rear retention system with adjustable straps at the chin and back for a secure fit.

A great helmet - light and well designed

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have used my penta for a couple years climbing rock and ice and love it. It is, and wears, super light, like putting a hat on - I never feel it. Nicely vented, super comfortable. One of the best parts about this is the harness system - it's made of webbing, not plastic, and is quite easy to adjust (in several dimensions) to cradle the head gently. Always feels secure.
After owning this for a year, I bought one for my wife.
I just ordered a second one for myself after breaking the first in a non-climbing moment of stupidity - great product and highly recommended. Not sure why this is not more common at the crags, but it should be in my opinion.

    Comfort and style

Both pleasing to the eye and functional, this helmet is now my go to for well... everything.

First day I wore it out to my local crag I took a pretty solid whipper and turned over on the rope and smacked my head into the rock. I didn't feel a thing and the helmet is no worse for the wear. It takes ice well and fits over a beanie (even if you have a big head like me).

The adjustment can be a bit tricky and the closure buckle feels light but I haven't had an issue yet.
