good shoe with a dangerous feature
- Familiarity:

I ordered this pair because Sidi shoes have always fit me well. I currently have a Sidi Ergo 5 Mega road shoe, which features Sidi's proprietary Dial mechanism with a Red Button. I don't find Sidi's system as convenient as the BOA system for adjusting the shoe while you're riding, but I have learned to live with it. The BOA system allows you the micro adjust simply be spinning the Dial mechanism, whereas the Sidi system requires several steps - you need to press the Red Button, which releases a Lever, you are then able to spin the Dial with the Lever to micro adjust. After the adjustment, you need to push the Lever back down into its original position. This multi-step operation is a nuisance, but as I said, I have learned to live it. However, on the Dominator 10, Sidi's Dial system is slightly different. It lacks the Red Button, which lifts the Lever needed to make the adjustments. On this shoe, you must lift the Lever by prying your finger underneath a tiny indentation on the Lever, and then spin the Dial with the Lever. This would not be an issue when you first put on the shoe at home, but making an adjustment while riding is a bit challenging if you're wearing half-finger gloves, and impossible if you're wearing full-finger gloves. There is no way you are going to get a finger under the tiny indentation to lift the Lever with full finger gloves. And if you're doing a gravel ride, you are usually focused / concentrating on the terrain ahead. And even if you're wearing half-finger gloves, it's still difficult, because you have to determine where the position of the indentation is on the round Lever / Dial. All this is very difficult to do if you're on a challenging terrain - you're not going to take your eyes off the road to look down at the shoe. I'm guessing Sidi eliminated the Red Button for cost-saving purposes, but IMHO, it's the wrong place to save costs. For safety, anyone would pay a couple of dollars more, and this is not an entry level shoe. Sorry for this long-winded review, and I hope it was not too confusing, but if you decide to purchase this shoe despite my review, you will most likely come to understand my concern about this shoe, and I hope you stay safe. Caveat: If you never have to make adjustments to the shoe while riding, you should not have a problem.

Terrible for walking

These shoes might be great for riding, but I found them nearly impossible to walk in. The heel of the shoe is so narrow that my ankles were rolling outward when I tried to walk in them. This was on the carpet in my house. I can't imagine how bad it would be trying to walk on uneven ground with them (these are mountain bike shoes). They are a sprained (or broken) ankle waiting to happen. I'm returning them.

Better than S-Works Recon
S-Works Recon kinda disappointed me right out of the box. Dug into my ankles, tongue pinched the top of my foot, boa dial pressing on a tendon, very stiff and cheap feeling uppers, and just never felt "right" even after about 1500 miles. Sooo& Found these on sale and figured I'd try them. WOW. Very very comfortable. Nothing pinching. No cutting into the ankles. Much softer than the Recons, and they just kinda "fit". I'm a already sold on them, they feel that good. Oh, and only 11G heavier than the S-Works.

Great Shoes for the MTB
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- 47

I had a an older pair of Sidi shoes and wanted to get a new pair. I knew my size and the Sidi chart is spot on. Normally a 46 in European sizing but with Sidi I need to go up one full size to 47 normally a size 12 US. The dual BOA system has worked great and seems to make the upper conform better to my foot than the velcro system on my older shoes. Shoes vent really well being here in the high desert is a must and my high arch insoles fit perfectly. They fit perfect right out of the box with zero break in.

Excellen
- Familiarity:

I replaced my worn out dominator 7 style Sidis with the 10 model. I think the dual tightening mechanism system is worth the extra $ over the dominator 7?s. By the time my old pair reached the end of their useful life, the Velcro was pretty gone. The tightening mechanism on the 10 model takes a little time to put on, but the adjustment is very precise. Exiting is fast. The 10 model is made in Italy, great fit. Size 45 fit my US size 11 feet just right.

Great shoe to take your bike for a walk
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer

Better walking than distance cycling shoe. Much, much softer than I am used to from Sidi's other top end road and Mt. biking shoes (I love my Shot-Vent road shoes), all of which are pretty stiff to start with, but you really appreciate how well they fit and how well a stiff sole serves you after 75+ miles. These have significantly softer soles, so you feel the cleat/pedal after 20 miles or so. The uppers are also much softer and more compliant. I think if I were mixing a fair amount of runing and walking with my riding, I'd probably appreciate those qualities more.
