great in portland!

4 stars These are a little baggier than expected - note: I bought a smaller size than necessary. That being said, they keep everything underneath perfectly dry in Portland rain.

Stuck between sizes

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

5’11” 180lbs 32” inseam 35” waist. Tried on XL and L. Purchased L. XL length was fine, seat felt good when in a riding position. thighs were very bulky- reminded me of cowboy chaps. Extremely large. L length is perfect. Seat feels slightly tight when on the saddle. Waist feels slightly lower than it should be. I do not have a large can either. Thighs are much slimmer than XL. It seems as though there should have been a size between L and XL. Can still wear a layer underneath the L but it is surprisingly slimmer than I anticipated after having so much room in an XL. Opted for L because it fits with less bulk to flap in the wind. Somewhat concerned about whether the tight seat will split or survive the next couple months. I will check back and update after a while.

I purchased the showers pass transit pants about two years ago now. I not only commute daily but im also a courier cyclist. I have put these pants through hell and back, Everthing from -8° cycling in white outs to torrential rain . Ive logged at least 12,000 miles on these pants and only in the last month or so have they started to truly degrade. A rip at the seam in the crotch. The protective barrier on the fabric is entirely gone. And they have shrunk and shrivelled from all of the salt on the road. All in all for $118 these pants served me well and i am not upset at all about loosing them after two years. (Ps. When i got these pants i could hold a cup full of water up to my leg with them on and my leg would remain dry and the cup would remain full, amazing)

No pockets

The lack of even a single pocket is a design flaw. Pretty cheesy to not have a pocket on a garment this expensive. Considering sending it back.

You don’t put pockets in rain pants meathead

Nice packable shell pants

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Bought these as an outer layer for this winter/spring. Tried them out the other day with a pair of cycling shorts under them with temps in the low 50's. They helped keep me warm and got me out on the bike when I otherwise wouldn't have. They seem to be top quality and looking at the way they are made I have no doubt that they are water proof. They come with a stuff sack and will stay in my pack through the spring though I have no real intention of riding in the rain. I am 6'0" and 180 lbs with a 33" waist and 34" inseam- the large pants fit me just fine.

Great for during the fall & even Winter

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Fit:
True to size

These pant's keep my legs from getting sweaty, keeps them dry during rain, Excellent wind protection, & keeps my legs warm in the low 40's with just cycling shorts on underneath. Haven't tried in winter yet. I already owned Showers Pass Storm Pants. These kept my legs warm in -26 degree weather with high winds. I'm sure these will do the same job.
