The Sea to Summit Sentinel XP1 backs up its storm-ready claim with real numbers: a 40D polycarbonate-coated nylon floor rated to 25,000mm keeps water out even on saturated ground, and the tent holds steady in winds over 50mph thanks to self-equalizing guylines and an aerodynamic design. The Ultra-Sil LS rainfly absorbs less water than a standard silnylon fly, so the pitch stays tight instead of sagging once the fabric gets wet. We pitch the fly first and take it down the same way, so the inner tent never gets exposed to rain during setup or breakdown. Steep walls and a 40.2in peak height keep the one-person interior livable through a long, wet stretch inside.
