It's a bowl, not rocket science

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

It's a bowl. It does it's job and the lid works pretty well. The thumb grip is a nice to have. I wish they stacked together better for packing up and because they don't they take up a bit of space in your kit.

I am pleased. The bowl is a nice size and the thumb grip is great when you're eating from your lap.

Tough to Work With

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

The bowl itself is alright, but the lid can be very frustrating to put back on. When you get it on, it's very snug, but for an $11 plastic bowl, I expected it to be much easier to work with. I will probably opt for a tupperware bowl on future expeditions.

Backpacking bowl

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Great bowl with tight lid. used on one trip so far. I would cook a two person dried meal eat half of it for lunch and snack on the rest of it throughout the afternoon. Worked great for that.

Lid Works Well

Lid has a secure feeling press fit and lets you keep utensils or something small inside.

Stays shut, haven't had it open unintentional while in my pack. Great for school to bring leftover scramble for 2nd breakfast between classes.

Could the top double as a plate?

Absolutely. Works perfectly that way. Use mine as a plate all the time.

Does the lid stay on well? As if it were Tupperware? I have 10 of the bowls, does sea to summit offer the lids separately?

Yup. It fits on quite tight. To the point where you want to believe it's watertight (which it is not, as far as I can tell). You definitely feel entirely comfortable filling it with soapy water, putting on the lid, and shaking vigorously--and you won't get wet.

I read on another website that it is watertight. Would be amazing.

What are the demensions of this bowl?

What are the demensions of this bowl?

Hi Jennifer, The Seat to Summit website lists the Bowl as having a diameter of 6.5 inches. The REI website lists the Delta Bowl with Lid has the following dimensions: 7.5 x 6.3 x 2.4 inches. So my (uneducated) guess is as follows: Bowl Diameter: 6.5 inches Diameter (with handle): 7.5 inches Height: 2.4 inches Sorry it's shady info but I hope it helps!
