Really great MTB shoe

- 5` 6"

I've been trying to get every last bit of life out of my old Pearl Izumi's over the past few years and it was finally time for an upgrade. The Scott's looked like a solid shoe, and a super good deal. The first pair I ordered was way too small. Scott doesn't do the European sizing model the same way everyone else does. Their version of a 42 is 8 1/2 US. Backcountry let me do an exchange and I went up to a 43 which fit perfectly (I normally wear a 9, 9 1/2 US). Plus, this is my first show with the BOA enclosure system which is awesome. The mount for the cleats is a tad weird, the backplate is just floating beneath the insole, but it comes with a handy sticker that will hold it in place. Weird. Having said that, it also has the widest range of placement that I've seen in MTB shoes. I like to have my cleat way back, almost middle of the shoe (I've had knee pain issues), and this shoe had room to spare. Even with those minor issues I still give this show a solid five stars. Lightweight, good looking, very easy to walk in, and functional. I would highly recommend.
