Arpia Climbing Shoe

Scarpa is proud to introduce the newest member of its collection of climbing shoes. The Arpia Climbing Shoe is the perfect next step from beginner climbing shoes. Beginning climbing shoes generally have flatter profiles to stay comfy while folks learn how to climb, and more advanced climbing shoes are uncomfortably downturned to crank up performance. The Arpia has a slight downturn to slightly increase your performance potential, except it still maintains enough comfort to keep you thinking about the climb instead of your crooked toes.

The Arpia has an snug fit similar to slippers, with the exception of the single z-strap closure for quick-and-easy adjustments. Scarpa made it with a microsuede upper that stretches to conform to your foot shape, and there's a soft-touch backing so your foot can easily slip in. Vibram's XS Grip 2 gives this shoe's sole some of the best traction in the climbing community.

  • The next step from your beginning pair of climbing shoes
  • Slight downturn provides a boost of performance as well as comfort
  • Microsuede upper stretches to conform to your foot shape
  • Vibram XS Grip 2 sole specializes in extra traction

a little tight, but I love these. I love to climb and with these shoes I loved it even more. they just grip on the wall. I would just go up in a size. defiantly worth it.

Nice

These are some really good shoes! I am just starting climbing but these ones are comfortable enough that my feet don’t hate me. I love the simple one Velcro that actually keeps them tight enough, yet easy to put on.

They do the job decently well

Familiarity:

These are pretty comfy for the amount of down turn, they are a great pair of first or second shoes to progress in. I felt that they were stiffer than I expected, and not as grippy as I was hoping.

These are Awesome!

These shoes are downright awesome. Scarpa's quality and detail definitely seems to hit a notch above other brands I've tried like Black Diamond and Evolv. These shoes are a perfect intermediate shoe with just the right amount of downturn to transition into for the first time. I'm still learning, but the more "beginner" centered shoes I've tried have quickly become less useful in my experience. The Arpias are the perfect step up and still provide enough comfort to get through several hours at the gym. I have yet to try anything outside, but I'm certain these would hold up well.

Bloody nice shoes - tight as hell

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

Definitely go a size UP from your regular shoe size. Even kardi B would dig these kicks. Sexy Italian rubber. I wear 10 in ASICS kayano, 10.5 in Garmont , the scarpa 43.5 10.1/3 where tight as hell and oncomfotable as hell. Much nicer rubber and build quality than the black diamonds I have, obviously more care in the design and build, and rubber was sticker. The thin arch and heal allows for good flex and movement. Definitely choose these over the black diamonds you have been looking at - they are just a big brand pumping out big brand marketing and no longer the best products., sadly a clear difference between brands and build locations. The lacing system is super simple and the heal fits nice. These are a nice step up from a entry level shoe and will blow your mind if you have just been running the stinked up horrid hire shoes from the gym. Well worth the money. Thanks. If you can try them on, or order a few pairs as fit is tight. Sadly returns is a costly pain in the backside, would not even consider it if your lived internationally. Cost $69 CAD in import duty so don’t even consider shipping international unless your a legit millionaire not a wantabee with a maxed out card. These kicks - Made in Italy with care, your definitely going to pull chicks when you pull these bad boys on. Nb. my black diamonds stink like a porta potty in Alberta, like, way way worse than my other scarpa and 5.10, so don’t go near them unless you need to keep bears/raccoons out of your car.
