Loved but Disappointed

I really love the fit, look and feel of this shoe. The only problem with them for me is that the fabric in the heel and back of ankle ripped and has caused me to get blisters and irritated on the back of my feet. For the cost of these shoes I just don’t think this should happen a couple of weeks into wearing them. Other than that issue I love them.

Comfortable but not durable at all

I've done 5 hikes with these. Roughly 35 miles and the heal is split on one and starting to split on the other. Very comfortable but if they only last 35 miles that's terrible!

Grippy and perfect for Spartan racing

These have a great feel for the ground yet protect your feet. Excellent grip on multi-surface terrain. Took them through pretty much everything and they preformed perfectly. Really nice descending on really steep and rough stuff. Low heal toe drop is my go to so the 4mm is awesome. I am not a fan of the new “beefy” style shoes so this appeals to my more traditional style. I sure hope this new fad ends soon!

Loved the shoes until I blew the uppers out.

I started wearing these shoes in the spring and immediately loved them. They are light weight and comfortable, and the tread shows very little wear. The uppers are a different story though. I have completely blown through the uppers on the right shoe, and the left is starting to tear also. I only average wearing these shoes twice a week because I rotate with 3 other trail running shoes. I bought a second pair before I knew this was going to be a problem, and I sure hope they hold up better.

Great Durable Trail Running Shoe

Great trail shoes. Good grip, seems durable. Good amount of cushion for rocky terrain. Overall durable trail shoe. I do wish they had more mesh/vent holes to let water out.

Hit the Trail

Like the shoe quality and stability, but the heel box feels sloppy, only Saucony that gave me a blister. That being said it was my first trail shoe and may need more break-in.

Good fit and build, a touch narrow in toe box

Have been wearing Saucony since Peregrine 5 + Kinvara 8. Loved those iterations and ordered multiple pairs. Loved the Peregrine 6 as well - though did get occasional pinky blisters with these. Didn't refresh again until Peregrine 11 - which proved to be quite a bit tighter in toe box, enough that I never wore on long runs or thru-hikes. But loved the basic build of the shoe enough to try again with Peregrine 12 + 13. Much better than Peregrine 11. Have realized the fundamental shape of the sole hasn't changed, but just the mesh around the toe box/toe protection guards. The newer iteration leaves a little room just below the toe guards, but above where the top mesh attaches to the sole, which allows the mesh to bend to the shape of your foot (toe splay) a little bit better. Wish this was even more improved and wish for a slightly larger toe box in general. Midfoot and heel lockdown are perfect, just wish there was slightly more lateral area around the toes. Kinvaras (especially newer versions) seem to be almost perfect on this and have never had problems with those (though an actually wider toe box and not just more flexible mesh would be ideal). To me, Peregrine/Kinvara are essentially trail/road analogues of each other in terms of drop, stack height, etc, so wish they also followed similar fit principles. Please consider a wider toe box on both - rather than just adding/subtracting mesh (especially Peregrine, as this is the perfect thru-hike shoe otherwise, where foot splay and swelling become more of a concern). Also love that you've brought the weight back down on the new last.

Great shoes!

The peregrine series are my favorite shoe by a long shot! The traction is great running in the redwoods and they are very comfortable and responsive. I average about 50-60 miles a week in them and don’t have any issues with foot pain. I have a pair of sauconys xodus ultra 2 that I use on the longest runs, but to be honest, the peregrine feels pretty much just as good on long hauls. I do tend to religiously replace my shoes at about 350-400 miles, so I can’t comment on longevity beyond that.
