Why We Like The Saucony Guide 17 Running Shoe

Saucony replaced the heavy and bulky medial post for their Center Path Technology in the Guide 17 Running Shoe. This new tech brings higher sidewalls and a wider base that offer inherent stability without needlessly altering our gait, and the sole's new flex groove pattern in the forefoot maintains flexibility despite the increased stack height, giving our strikes more cush while also smoothing out our transitions.

Nice comfort and stability for lower mileage runs

I bought thes a couple months ago. They work good until I get the mileage a little higher. Then, my feet swell, and they are too small. My toes get blisters. So, if I keep the mileage low, around 4-5 miles, these shoes are wonderful. I should have ordered a size larger.

Works great for me

Shoes work great for me. Tried them on at a local shoe store, but they don’t stock the color I wanted, so I ordered direct. If you’re a mild to moderate pronator, put these on your list to try.

The Perfect Running Shoe!

The most comfortable Guide shoes yet! I have had many pairs of Saucony Guide shoes, but the 17’s are amazing!

I'm a nurse and I love these new Guide 17's.

I'm a nurse and I can run all over the ER in these. I've been wearing Saucony stability running shoes pretty much the last 12 years and these are my current ones and some of my favorites. Lightweight, some decent structure, great support and comfort. The fit is a significant departure from the Guide 16, especially around the heel and rear ankle, but it's an improvement in every way. Feels like the Guide ISO from a couple years ago. I wear these for 12 hour shifts in a busy hospital and I have no pain or complaints.

Guide 17's

Love my new Guide 17's, bit of a change from the 15 and 16's, but really enjoy these.

Guide 17 changed a lot and for the worse.

The changes with the Guide 17 over the Guide 16 and prior generations makes this a no go for me. The Guide 17 is a noticeably larger shoe than the Guide 16 and prior generations. The foot strike area is different than prior Guide shoes. The size. The Guide 17 is large and wide and felt awkward and uncomfortable to walk and run in. The widest part of the shoe, the forefoot area is nearly 5 inches wide, a half inch wider than the Guide 16. The midfoot area on the Guide 17 is nearly 3.5 inches wide while it is barely 2.75 inches on the Guide 16. The heel area is on the Guide 17 is over 4 inches wide while it’s a just under 3.5 inches on the Guide 16. When I opened the box I initially thought I had been sent a wide width or had mistakenly ordered something other than medium width. It’s like the shoe has become an extra extra wide. Foot strike area. The Guide 16 and prior generations my foot strike zone would be the forefoot area but the Guide 17 is the heel to midfoot area. The offset of the shoe changed from the Guide 16 to 17 or the description on the website and the shoe are wrong. The website lists the Guide 17 as having an 8mm offset which is the same 8mm offset for the Guide 16 but the actual Guide 17 I received has a 6mm offset printed on the sole of the shoe.

I bought these a month ago and my feet have not stop thanking me. Support, cushion, and fun all in one shoe! I would definitely recommend them!

Buy Brooks Adrenaline instead. These suck.

Buy Brooks Adrenaline 23 instead. These are terrible and gave me lots of pain when running.

Awesome running shoe

Very recent purchase and totally satisfied with them! Very comfortable for everyday use and the cushioning is beyond with the platform.

Best shoe EVER.

Quite frankly the very best shoe I have ever owned. Looking to actually purchase a second pair just to rotate them and prolong the life of the shoe. I have awful plantar fasciitis and these cushioning and support of this shoe is unparalleled. I have owned Hoka, On, Boork, Diadora, Nike, and New Balance and NONE come close.
