Why We Like The X Ultra 4 GTX Wide Hiking Shoe

The best wide shoes on the market!
Bought these shoes awhile back and they are one of the best wide shoes on the market. Comfortable walking and hiking in these for hours. Once you break them in they fell like slippers.

Great Shoe for site seeing

Solid shoe

Good with reservations
After having trouble with shoe width I ordered the wide version of the shoe and it fits well and is comfortable. The length is another matter. They come up a little short and if I am going down hill my toes press against the front of the shoe. I do like the lacing, it makes them easy to put on and can be either left loose or tightened, either way is comfortable.

Unfortunately had to return them
I have a broad foot and even tho I ordered the WIDE option, the discomfort across the top of my foot was "too much". Unfortunatly returned them for refund

Not Suitable for High Arches
I think the design of these shoes is not very suitable for people with higher insteps. When I first put them on and started walking, I felt that my feet were being pressed by the hard parts of the shoes. I'm not sure if this happens to everyone, but unfortunately, because of this, my feet hurt for a long time.

Nice upgrades over previous models
Overall nice upgrades from previous X Ultras I have. I like that they are available in wide sizes. My only complaint is the tongue on the left shoe drifts outboard slightly (a bit nitpicky but annoying to me because I’m constantly reaching down to readjust).
