Loved their boots so I decided to get their shoes. Package was stolen and backcountry advised I file a police report as they couldn't help me.

Quality lacking.
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- 8.5
I bought these because of my past good experiences with Solomon shoes. These are lacking in quality. The laces are frayed and the tongue on the shoe does not stayI in place.

As good as before
Must-have for Grouse Grind in Vancouver . Good grip and never wet.

Exactly what I wanted
This shoe is exactly what I needed for hiking this summer: waterproof with goretex, easy tie; slip resistant, and comfortable. I would suggest going down a full size— which is the recommendation. It is true. I am consistently a size 8, and the 7.5 is slightly bigger than I like, but will work with thincker socks. I think a size 7 would have been ideal. Great functional hiking shoe and stylish to boot!

All aroung excellent shoe
I am so pleased with the Ultra 4's! The lacing system is great, and they have arch support(I have very high arches) They feel like they are hugging your feet, total support!

Lasted 4 days!
I had high hopes for these shoes as they were well rated and a women’s size UK 9.5 which is hard to find. They were very comfortable and didn’t require any break-in period. I wore them hiking for 4 days, during which the cushioned lining ripped all the way through on both shoes; on the outside near the ankle and inside on the heel. I have never had a pair of shoes deteriorate this quickly. Disappointed is an understatement, these shoes are ready for the bin and they’re almost brand new!

Love the soft heel, grippy tred and lacing system
comfy. Copes with rain. Enjoy lacing system. Soft heel means I can wear with Achilles tendonitis. Have been wearing on flat ground for city park & common land dog walks. Decent sole grips well on muddy paths.

Not my favorite
I’ve been a solid Salomon customer for a long time now. I am replacing my x ultra from seven years ago. They’ve been on many adventures and many miles and they just started wearing out now. I decided to try this new x ultra and it is not my favorite. Very stiff shoe with a much narrower toe box than before. I find the shoe pinches my foot around my ball joint when I walk. I’ve used these shoes for a couple months and 20-25 miles at this point and they still don’t feel broken in. I also bought the Solomon X ultra 360 Climasalomon at the same time and I find this is a much more comfortable shoe… very similar to previous styles. No breaking in required and comfortable from the get-go. As for the waterproofing, I cannot judge as I have not used them in the rain yet. On the whole, it’s a beautiful shoe that’s not very comfortable.

Review for Salomon X ULTRA 4 GORE-TEX Hiking Shoe
I recently took my new Salomon X ULTRA 4 GORE-TEX hiking shoes on a 10-hour hike, and they were fantastic! The fit was perfect for my size 6.5 US feet, offering great support and comfort throughout the entire trek. Despite the challenging terrain and a few unexpected water crossings, my feet stayed completely dry thanks to the excellent waterproofing. The shoes provided superb grip and stability, which made navigating rocky and uneven paths a breeze. Overall, I couldn't be happier with these hiking shoes—they're comfortable, waterproof, and performed exceptionally well during my long hike. Highly recommended!

Great features
Wore this good looking trail shoe around the house for awhile with and without orthotics. The shoe is made well, , but the arch on my left foot never felt right. I returned the shoes.
