Returned for poor assembly and terrible fit. I've probably had ten pairs through the years and was surprised this pair was sewn differently enough to hurt. Returned them and bought the same pair from Zappos and they fit perfectly. Who knows. Frankly a bit annoyed I was charged for return shipping when the product was in my opinion defectively produced.

Love them just wish they held up!

I absolutely love these but they don't hold up to the hiking & running I do! In two months they are ripping & falling apart!

Impressed, very impressed

Using these for extended daily hikes and power walks (if that’s what you call them). Superb in terms of comfort and stability. No issues from the first day of using. Only had them a couple of weeks and well over 100km clocked up already.

Quality Gear is essential

I really like the quality of Salomon X Ultra 4. This is a great hiking shoe, fits as expected and has a super rugged sole. I have already picked up a second pair.

Love them

I love these shoes. I wear them almost everyday for work as a home inspector. They’re super grippy on roofs and the goretex keeps me protected from weather. They’re super comfy for being on my feet all day. My only wish is that the quick laces could be a little sturdier.

I have been buying this model for years. Always could count on it fitting great and having the Contra grip sole. This year it has a smaller toe box. Quite noticeable while wearing it. I kept wearing it hoping the fabric would stretch. Still hoping. Take caution if buying this years model. Look at the photos. This years model is grey.. Not sure why such a change this year from Salomon?

80 miles Sstaight out of the box

Shoes are Fabulous. Straight out of the box, i hiKIED 80 plus miles in Wyoming. Rigid shoes that matched expectations of stability and comfort. I did not wear them driving or sitting as these are not designed for that and I know better to charge our for something more flexible during this activities. Thank you for a great product from a customer centric company

Look to be a fantastic shoe. In true Salomon style

I have had so many different styles of Salomon shoes and the Ultra 4 are my ride or die shoes. If I only had one pair to take on a trip not knowing were I was going, I would take them. Waterproof, secure stable footing due to the foot bed system, light weight, and extremely durable. I only give these a 4 because I have not worn them enough to know how this particular (new) model will perform. My only suggestion would be to make the tie box slightly wider so the toe can spread. I usually size up from a half to a full size over some other brands to accommodate a wide toe box and the foot swelling when hiking. This is not usually an issue with heal slip but can be. Enjoy!

Broke the shoes in on a couple smaller hikes and went for a 2k feet incline 6 mile hike and rubbed a massive heel blister. Never had shoes do that to me on such a small hike. Horrible hiking shoe for the cost. Returning.
