Why We Like The Salomon X Ultra 360 Edge Mid Boot
The Salomon X Ultra 360 Edge Mid Boot has an edge on ordinary hiking boots and an edgier look than older styles in the uber-popular X Ultra line up. With low weight, a mid cut, and high protection, this technical hiking boot can tackle tough trails without weighing us down while their all-terrain grip gives us confidence on steep trails and mixed terrain. New for 2024, this version of the X Ultra is non-waterproof to keep our feet cooler on hotter hikes and boasts a more modern look than its older brother, the X Ultra 4.

Broke in literally two weeks
Bought then because I’m a scientist who has to hike daily for work finding endangered plants. I’m also an influencer with over 400k followers (@sacramentofoodforest) where I teach people about the importance of biodiversity. I had merrels that broke and felt I should try Salomon’s because they are expensive but seemed quality. I was wrong. They broke after two hikes. And little to say I’m sticking with merrel

Fit
I’m having issues breaking in my boots for a trip to Rwanda. I can’t figure out how to reduce a pressure issue on my left inside ankle. It hurts to wear them. I leave in 8 days. Any suggestions. Boots fit well else where

Comfortable with poor manufacturing quality
I have had these for about a month now, and they are comfortable but poor/cheaply made. The top eyelet on one shoe pulled out after two weeks of almost daily wear, and the nylon lace eyelets are being cut by the nylon-on-nylon sawing of hiking and running. If you wear these shoes on weekends to hike, they will last a season. If you hike and train every day, they will need to be replaced in two months. I also have a pair of the low-cut version, and the same thing happened with the nylon eyelets in only a few days. I had to jerry-rig some eyelets out of p-cord so they wouldn't fall off my feet on a steep descent.

Piece broke off first time tying them
A piece broke off the first time trying to tie them. Pretty weak manufacturing. Would not recommend.

Great Hiking Shoes
It feels like I'm hiking on clouds thanks to Salomon. I highly recommend and I will purchase them again when worn out.
