Ultra Glide 2 Experience
Disappointed with Fit, Stability, and Protection Review: I was initially hopeful about the Salomon Ultra Glide 2 for my ultra marathon training, but unfortunately, they haven't met my expectations. The fit is too loose, leading to instability and a high risk of ankle rolls, especially on technical terrain. The shoe's upper and toe box also lack adequate protection, leaving my feet vulnerable to impacts and debris. This is a significant drawback for trail running, where encountering rocks and other obstacles is common. While the cushioning is comfortable, it's not enough to compensate for the issues with fit, stability, and protection. I would recommend exploring other options if you're seeking a reliable trail running shoe for demanding conditions.

Not a trail running shoe
I bought these based on the product specs. Tyey are described as "maximal cushioning" yet they feel flat and hard as a board. Also, the tread on these shoes has very little grip and hardly a trail running shoe. Definitely a waste of money.

Amazing shock absorption and comfortable
I bought these prior to a 7 day music festival. I have a bad back and knees. I have never had so little pain to wake up to in the morning doing 20000 steps every day. After that I tried running in them, something I’ve been unable to do for years because of pain and swelling. These shoes are amazing and really help take the stress off your body

Great Golf Application
Golf shoe companies have been notorious, until recently, for not supplying shoes that help with planter factitious. I switch to the original Salmon Trail Shoes for ground grip & support. This new one offers even more heel cushion.

Comfortable with great cushioning
2nd pair. Great cushion and comfortable upper. 4 stars because heel collars wears quickly as does the outsole. Needs a more durable rubber. Also parts of the upper have come unglued. Quality control could be better on this model. However running in it is great.

Great shoes in general but not good in wet places
I've had the pair of Ultra Glide 2 for about 3 months and have run only 180 km with them. The shoes are excellent for running long distances in dry places, the cushioning is amazing and makes them super comfortable. But whenever you encounter wet or muddy trails, they don't grip at all and become very unreliable. Unfortunately, you can't trust them in those conditions. I understand that running on wet surfaces will always be somewhat slippery, but these shoes have no grip whatsoever.

Nice looking and comfy
This is my first pair of Salomon shoes and it did not disappoint. It’s stylish and cushy, but also offers sufficient energy rebound so that your feet are not tired after extended wearing. I do wish the outsole is more durable but that’s for me a half star deduction. Recommended!

Comfortable and well cushioned but not perfect
This shoe is very comfortable and well cushioned, but sits a bit too high for technical terrain. For me, it raises the risk of sprained ankles. I much prefer Salomon's SpeedCross line for technical trail running, which feels much more direct and nimble to me. We are all different though, and I still enjoy using this shoe for smoother trails, gravel, etc. I've only owned this shoe for a few months so the durability rating is an assumption based on previous Salomon SpeedCross shoes I've owned, which have all been very durable.

Incredible, durable, comfortable
Love these shoes so much. So comfy. Have two pairs, with 400 and 300 miles on them. Just such a comfy shoe. Done a couple 100 mile races in them. Super satisfied. Great durability too - nothing wrong with the upper, only noticeable wear is the tread wearing down after a few hundred miles. Then they'll be road shoes :)
