Good for steep mountain terrain
I got these for backpacking the GR11 across the Pyrenees. The fit came a bit tight even in the wide version so swapped for a half size up. Very good grip on all mountain surfaces wet and dry, never had the opportunity to try on snow. The speed lace system works ok but it's necessary to do something to prevent the closed loop snagging on vegetation and causing a fall. I used trail gaiters so it wasn't an issue otherwise I would have cut the loop for safety. Heels don't need to be so high though. Reasonably durable though a sharp rock pierced the thin side fabric at one point. Not waterproof but dried quick when weather allowed.

Great fit for a wide foot
While I had to wait a while to get the shoes, they were worth it due to their limited availability. Clearly, Salamon needs to make more in a wide format. While I would have liked the Gore-Tex version, I plumped for the non-waterproof version. They are still very good in the mud, true to their name, and grip well. They are very light but hold the foot well and give good support over all terrain. I general run three 10ks a week and have had them about four weeks.

SPEED CROSS 6 WIDE
I had a pair of speed cross 6 WIDE and bought another last month, I've tested them in harsh condition in ULTRA Trails, I can say that they perform very well. The WIDE shoebox is essential for me and allows me to better control the floor grip on rocks, roots, fallen trees, etc.

Good looks, fit, comfort, performance
High quality as always. Great traction and comfort. Not a big deal for me but I've had a number of people comment on how well they look as well.

Salomon speed cross 6 wide
Brought for my spartan ORC as my old speedcross 4 had started to fall apart and slightly squashed my toes .. Went for the speedcross 6 wide version and I’m over the moon with them and fit beautifully

Best running shoes for large feet
I’ve had these for a couple months now and I’m in love. The quick lace system is incredibly convenient and makes adjustments simple. I wear a size 14 and these shoes are still light weight while being supportive. I gladly threw away my Brooks after using these for the first time and I’ll be buying nothing but Salomon shoes from here on out.

Favorite sneaker of all times
I didn’t give it 5 stars because if you need a 14 Wide, it’s just like the Ford Model T - you can have any color as long as it’s black.

Just one thing...or maybe two
I have re-bought these after my last ones wore out, except there's been an upgrade, and I don't like the lettering across the top. It spoils the look - I don't feel as comfortable (in my head) wearing them for work. Also, can you make them waterproof please?

Great for Hiking
These are great for hiking. I've taken them all over Canada and Iceland. The grip has saved me more than once for sure.
