Hitting the trails without a proper pair of shoes is like trying to eat lobster without a bib: it just ain't gonna end well. So the next time you hear the trails calling your name, make sure you slip on the Salomon Men's Sense Ride Trail Running Shoe. Assuring unencumbered agility, the Sense Ride features a low-profile, seamless upper for a barely-there fit and feel. Meanwhile, the drawcord closure system makes for easy-on, easy-off, and the cushioned midsole is endowed with just-enough foam to keep you upright and comfortable for at least a marathon's worth of distance. Though, to ensure you stay four paws up, the Sense is equipped with an 8mm to help propel your stride, and the lugged Contagrip maintains sticky traction whether you're bounding through wet, damp, or loose surfaces.

This shoe performs like a high quality hiking boot on hills and uneven terrain but is comfortable enough to wear casually. After 4 miles on a fast road walk I did start to feel the road a little but this is a no slip, no roll over, hiking shoe that grips better than my cleated golf shoes in any condition from wet to loose gravel. It's solid on hills in every direction, accent and decent. It is a little narrow for my slightly wide feet so I had to go up a half size. There is no direction going down a hill that this shoes does not excel in, they are extremely light, they wash up nicely, dry very fast, and they look pretty cool too. I wish I had the drawcord laces on all my shoes. This was my first pair of Salomon shoes and I liked them so much I bought a pair of Salomon Sonic RA-2 for long treadmill or road walks, great shoe as well.
