My Go To Shoe For Long Trail Runs
I am on my third pair. Great fit for me right out of the box. The cushion is good but stillgive me good ground feel. The shoe drains well after water crossings and stand up to the rough and rocky desert trails I spne most of my time on. Don't change it!

Comfy padded protector
Love the fit and ride of this shoe. It gives you plenty of protection but you still feel like you have a great feel for the terrain you are running on. It is a fast shoe as well, racking up this PR in these. Love them.

Great Fit
I was a long distance runner through college. And at 69 am an avid hiker. I have always thought slip on shoes for walking and running were useless. Because I like a firm fitting shoe. But I decided to try these because they did have laces. I have been VERY impressed. Got the laces where I wanted and locked them in. Now I slip them on in seconds and they fit GREAT!

Great Shoe
I have previously complained about the more recent S/Lab models being too narrow, however this second gen Genesis shoe is a perfect fit. The toe box is slightly more roomy than its predecessor. The shoes are true to size. The quality and performance is exactly as described on the tin. Salomon deliver yet another incredible shoe. Thanks for addressing the narrow toe box. The ultimate ling distance shoe

So comfortable and light, great for wide feet
I absolutely love these shoes! Finally found the perfect model for my ultra races (100 miles). Somehow they cushion my feet very well yet are very light - the perfect combination! I finish my long runs with fresh feet. Not to mention the tough fabric and well designed lacing system that literally gets rid of loose ends and seals from debris. They even seem great on mud with generous lugs, unlike another top/niche brand that I use that has very thin lugs that makes them uunsuitable for mud and snow. Even my slightly wide feet, which don’t fit other Salomon shoes, fit very nicely in the S/Lab Genesis! Careful if you have narrow feet because even I find the shoes a bit too loose sideways on some technical terrain. But I love these!

My New Favorite Trail Shoe
I have narrow feet with a high arch and Salomon shoes have always been a great fit for me. I'm also getting a little older now and have found that some extra cushion really matters when I want to be able to go back out the next day. I'd been using a set of S/LAB ULTRA 3s for a few years now and I really loved them, particularly the ankle collar that keeps debris from getting in. They held up amazingly well, but they are at their mileage limits and definitely no longer work as well as they one did. My only noteworthy criticism of those was that I wanted slightly more aggressive lugs for the soft terrain typical in my area and they could use a bit more cushioning, especially for longer sessions. And a tiny little complaint is that while lace garage works really well, it can be a little annoying getting the laces in and out of it. So along comes the S/LAB Genesis and it directly addresses the only issues I had on the ULTRA 3. The lugs are noticeably grabbier and the lace garage has a nice little handle that makes it a cinch to use. Best of all, I have lots of extra cushioning without it feeling squirmy while also keeping the ankle collar that I love. These are the ideal trail running shoes that I've been waiting for.

Best All-Round Trail Shoe
I have and have owned a lot of different trail shoes over the years and no single pair of shoes is the best at everything. I have a few for maximum speed on mild trails, a few for chugging runs on rugged terrains, a few for super technical trails, etc., but I had been looking for a pair that can handle everything I throw at it without compromise and I've found it with the S/Lab Genesis. It has the perfect balance of comfort, light weight, ruggedness, durability, grip, nimbleness, and speed. It may not be the very best in any one of these categories, but it is at least very good in each of these criteria. The upper is very form-fitting and wraps around the top of my feet very well to provide excellent lockdown while being comfortable. The QuickLace system is superb and allows for much easier adjustments than traditional lacing. The midsole is very well balanced - not too soft and not too firm. It's well-cushioned but still stable. It isn't that bouncy or propulsive like some carbon-plated trail supershoes out there, but I never found those accommodating for the trails. The midsole on the S/Lab Genesis strikes the right balance for long runs as well as for handling steep climbs and descents and is stable enough for very technical trails, unlike the carbon-plated trail supershoes I've tried. The outsole is excellent although I have yet to try on wet rocky surfaces. It isn't the most grippy I've tried but it's more than good enough. Very happy with the S/Lab Genesis. If I had to choose only one trail running shoe to take me on a trip and I didn't know what types of terrains I'd encounter, now I know that this shoe will be able to handle anything with comfort and proficiency.

Comfortable and agile trail shoes
This was my first pair of S/lab and I have been very happy with the purchase. I also run in the Ultra Glide 2 and will continue to run both for different terrain and paces. The S/lab Genesis has been a great shoe for rugged and technical trails. These have allowed me to run confidently on some sketchy terrain that other shoes would not have been able to handle. The tread is solid in mud and loose rock - much better than the Ultra Glides for that. I have about 150 miles on these so far and can say that the fit has been true to size and they feel comfortable at distances up to 50k with no blisters or hot spots. I will be taking these out for a 50 miler soon and have no doubt that they will perform well. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a medium / standard width trail shoe for rugged or muddy terrain at distances beyond 25K.

Best S/Labs Yet
The durability and comfort of these is unmatched. Prior to these I had Limited Edition S/Lab Ultra 3s, and I suffered from sand and other trail debris entering the holes at the bottom of the tongue/the top of the vamp. These, however, have a perfect fix with an added layer on the upper that still allows for breathability without as much exposure.

It works for me.
S/Lab genesis surprisingly larger toe box, lighter, and softer than other Salomon shoes. I have run many ultras including 100 plus miles with this shoes and never had any issues regarding foot pain, blisters. Definitely worth try it. I
